21  Hand sewn dress - Alabama Chanin style in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by ThéaOz on: March 08, 2014 05:12:29 AM

After a month and a half of work, here is my new dress.

It's done with knit, from the book Alabama Studio Studio + Design.

I'm a bit disappointed as my knit was not stretchy, and the dress is a tad small. But well, it's done so I better enjoy it !

22  Re: Tenniel's Alice in Wonderland Lino Cut and Print in Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects by ThéaOz on: March 07, 2014 01:46:03 PM
Okay so I did this a couple of months ago for a swap and realized I never posted it! Roll Eyes  This was (I think) 8x10" slightly simplified version of a scene from Alice in Wonderland with Tenniel's illustration (since that was my swap partner's preference).  I sent the cut along with a print (holy crap, SO hard to do) but hopefully onyxnox is enjoying it in her crafting!

In case you're wondering, yes, it took FOREVER

Forgive the mistakes, I'm terrible at printing but I'm working on it!!

The cut itself...

It's amazing ! Well done, it's wonderful !

We had to stitch from a word : fragility...
So I thought about a bird, alone in the winter cold.

27  Zardosi embroidered hairclips in Needlework: Completed Projects by ThéaOz on: January 19, 2014 09:04:28 AM
I came back from India with a suitcase full of beads and threads, I couldn't wait to stitch again. So right after I came back I set the silk on the hook and went for that.

Here is my new creation, I didn't stictch for a very long time so it's very great joy I did this challenge.

The design is French Vintage (reassemble a bit, otherwise it was too large).

I used silk ribbons, wool, silk thead on linen. You can see more pictures on my blog. There the explanations are in French but if you do need them in English, please do tell me.

29  Tie-up Alabama Chanin style in Needlework: Completed Projects by ThéaOz on: September 10, 2013 12:50:26 AM
I did this after reading, and re-reading Albama Chanin last book for a long time.

At first I didn't know what to chose, there are so many beautiful things to do in it. So I started by something easy, but which seemed stunning to my eyes.

The work was long but the fabric is so nice to touch, the progressing work was so lovely to look at, that I didn't mind.

And I must say I'm really really pleased with the result. It's simple but stylish, I love it ! My only fear is to lose it  Shocked

You can see more pictures on my blog, here, https://theaoz.wordpress.com/2013/09/10/couvre-epaule-tie-up-from-alabama-chanins-book/

The materials and the pattern were a gift for a challenge.

The dragonfly is a bit weird but it was a lot of fun Smiley
