1  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Crochet winged dragon! With rider! Won 1st place in an art contest! on: July 16, 2013 04:43:03 PM
Hi guys, after entering my crochet dragon in an art contest I didn't have it for a couple of weeks that's why I didn't share any pics of it with you all, because I didn't get any before I submitted it. Anyway after finally getting it back yesterday I got a couple of pics for you all. The art contest was being held at a library near by here and when I submitted it they said they would call us and tell us if I won. So I waited and didn't get any phone call and a couple of weeks later I was going to be going to the town the library was in for some supplies so I called the library and asked if I could pick the dragon up and they said yes you can pick it up any time. So I decided that when I went to town I would pick the dragon up on the way back. So I walked in to the library after I had done all of my shopping and I walked over to the table where I saw my dragon and I was a 1st place tag on it!!! woo hoo!!! I was pretty happy when I saw it but now I'm wondering why they didn't call me since I won like they said they would. They also said that the winner would get some money and I didn't get that either yet. I'm thinking maybe they'll send it by mail. Anyway I don't really care much about the money or that they didn't call me I'm just really happy that I won. It was nice finally getting the dragon back after a long time. Oh and I forgot to say I made a little rider for the dragon too with a sword and shield. Anyway, I should stop blabbing and show you pics of the dragon and its rider. Here they are. I'm pretty sure that this is the best thing I've crocheted yet. It tops my other projects. I love making dragons and hope to make a bunch more in the near future. I've always liked dragons and its plenty fun designing and coming up with the shapes needed to make the dragon. But often I have to undo some parts and redo them to make them look better. Its all trial and error. But I'm very happy with how he turned out. There I go off again blabbing, lol. Here, I'm going to stop and post some pictures now.  Smiley

It took me about a week to make. The dragon is about 15 inches long from head to tail and the wingspan is about 20 inches long from wing tip to wing tip. The saddle is removable and the sword and shield are removable as well. So is all of the riders clothes and belt. Now before you ask me I don't have a pattern as it would be too complicated to write down. I do have some rough notes and I plan on making them in to a video tutorial for people to crochet their own dragon. I didn't record anything for the rider though but I can probably remember what I did for him and his accessories.

Comments are more than welcome as I'd love to hear what you all think! Smiley
2  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Amigurumi dragon WIP on: July 04, 2013 01:47:45 PM
Hi everyone! Here is a crochet dragon wing that I designed myself. I actually have the whole dragon done now but I submitted it to a contest and I won't be getting it back for at least a week. I didn't get any pics of the finished project but I'll post them on Craftster ASAP. Anyway here is the wing.

Both wings were a pain in the butt to make but they were totally worth it. I think when designing a dragon the wings have to be really good. That goes for the rest of the body too. When I get it back I'm going to add a couple of things to it and than take some pics and share them with you all.

Anyways until then I decided to give you all a WIP picture.

I hope you all like it! And happy 4th of July!  Grin
3  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Crochet chinese dragon! on: June 12, 2013 12:45:02 PM
Hey guys! Here is a chinese dragon amigurumi I made. I was originally going to make a plain dragon but all my friends said that I should make a long one so I did. He does not have any wire in him. I wish he did though. He's really floppy. When I go to WalMart next I'm going to buy some wire and see if I can't  shove it through the stitches. He took me about 2 weeks to make working on and off. And before anyone ask if I have a pattern for it the answer is YES I did write it up. I'll probably be posting it on my blog soon. Anyway here he is.

4  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Small pink bird on: May 27, 2013 08:02:47 PM
Here is an amigurumi bird I made. A friend gave me like 20 pounds of really cool yarn there's furry yarn and uarn with fake jewels in it and lots of other really pretty yarns. Anyway, there was one paticular yarn that was a bit furry and it had fake jewels in it and I always thought that it would look really pretty as a bird. I looked at a lot of dove pictures and I kind of based my design on them. She's about 4 inches tall from the tail to the head. And she's about 6 inches wide from wing tip to wing tip. Anyway, here she is. I hope you like her. Smiley

5  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Chainsaw-head monster! on: May 14, 2013 07:14:07 PM
Here is an amigurumi monster I made for the May monsteralong. Its supposed to be a monster with a chainsaw as part of his body, and when he eats the cahinsaw runs. I came up with the idea by drawing a bunch of monsters and than I picked my favorite drawing which looked like this. Anyway, here it is. I hope you all like it!  Smiley

6  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Amigurumi snow bunny! on: May 07, 2013 08:32:24 AM
Here is an amigurumi snow bunny I made.

^ I made a brown bunny from the same pattern, and than I used a much smaller hook and crocheted the white bunny. Here they are side by side.

I wrote a pattern for this bunny, what inspired it is I have a pet bunny named Ash. There's a picture of him in my avatar. Anyway, I searched for crochet bunny patterns online and I couldn't find any realistic patterns. Hence the creation of this pattern. I tried to make the back legs and feet look like real bunny back legs and feet. And I tried to make the front legs the head and the ears look realistic. I'm pretty happy with the results. I like how it looks like a real bunny. Oh and the pattern for the feet is not mine. I got it from Knot Your Nana crochet.

Anyway, enjoy! I hope you all like it! And feel free to comment. I'd love to hear what you all think.  Smiley
