1  Elsa from Frozen costume (Finished!! Pic heavy) in Halloween Costumes by Tenitsu on: October 14, 2014 06:40:49 PM
Well, my 3yr old munchkin is a seriously Frozen fan, and naturally (since she's starting to understand halloween finally) she demanded to be Elsa for Halloween xD

The boddice and underskirt are made from a blue silk taffeta, the sleeves and overlay for the skirt are made from a shimmery stretch organza, and the train for the back is made with a sheer blue snowflake organza. The edges of the train are lined in a pretty shiny sliver braided trim. The pattern was drafted and designed by my grandmother!

FINISHED finally!! Including a gloriously crocheted hat with braided hair and a little crown to go with her outfit from Mama24boyz  <3

Just look at that shine it has in the sun omg!

The work in progress images as it was half done!

Riza enjoying her new outfit

You can see the trim and some of the length of the train in this one

A cute little wavy pattern on the train, just to make it a bit unique

A good view of the back (its safety pinned on for sizing atm, but you get the idea)

A better view of the wavy ends on the train

It flows rather nicely even when she's spinning around

Yup, even the split up the side was kept for my ornry munchkin

Hope you liked it! Cant wait till its finished (hahaha after halloween, it becomes her play dress!)

Here's some of the pics I snapped with my phone of the Elsa poppet I made for Mama24boyz! Pardon my crappy semi-dramatic looking lighting xD I was using a desk lamp because my overhead flourescents died apparently... ugh

I hand sewed all the sequins on the boddice, there's about 200-300 of them in varying sizes.

72 coats of paint and stain in the end for her face to get the best blend effect on the eye shadow and her eye color...im satisfied with it.

An adorable little side view showing some of the shiny lil snowflakes I sewed into her hair

Yes...the blanket in the background was done on purpose XD as my husband said "I see wut you did thar" ha ha

She also has her own little post in the toys section =)

3  Elsa Poppet in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Tenitsu on: September 22, 2014 06:27:31 PM
So for the latest Poppet vs Ami swap, I made an Elsa poppet for Mama24boyz
=) She turned out great it seems (my toddler is STILL mad at me for shipping her off haha!!)

So here she is!

Her face is entirely hand painted with 72 coats of paint and fabric stain, with a little added mineral makeup for the added shimmer

Shiny little snowflakes in her hair, and I used the larger fingers rather than the smaller dainty posable ones as I figured Mama24boyz would be giving Elsa to her precious little girl so I wanted her baby friendly =)

The baby chose the 'poses' for the pictures and the dramatic lighting was mostly due to my terrible lack of proper overhead lighting in my room haha!

The entire dress was hand drafted and the boddice of the dress was hand beaded with about 200 some-odd sequins of varying sizes.

And a little look at her sheer snowflake organza cape/train thingy. The entire dress was made with costume satin and the snowflake organza and sequins. And the back buttons up for easy removal incase the dress or the poppet need washing (that costume satin is a pain in the arse to wash! T^T )

I ran out of time (as the dress and the face gave me some trouble) I didnt get to make her little shoes or any underwear like I wanted to, but I did paint her toes and fingernails for fun haha!! Maybe making an Anna poppet to go with her later, we'll see!

Well barely managed to pick what I wanted and get it done, ofc I have to get a few more pictures to show it off but I wanted atleast one of us on Halloween after her fun trick or treating hehe

The top is a bolero jacket with a wicked deep hood though I didnt use the hood because I made a lil headband with kitty ears to wear, and then there's the baby's matching leopard print jumpsuit which my grandmother made for her =)

And my amusing husband and his handmade cloak, and my brother (who was going as a survivor from chernobyl just for kicks, and everyone thought he was posing as a terrorist hahahaha!!) ahh fun times =^-^=

Thoughts? (though I wish I had made the elastic a lil tighter and the back a little higher, but for a first attempt, I'd say a good one considering I've never made pants before =D)

8  Totally in need of ideas, mommy & baby costumes in Halloween Costumes by Tenitsu on: October 02, 2013 06:20:31 AM
Okay... I'm offically stumped....

This year for halloween (yay my toddler is still young enough I get to decide her adorable costume), my 2 1/2 yr old is going as a little leopard... which we're making out of a few white n pink leopard print fleece throw blankets (horray for $2 blankets!).... Which we've all seen those bunting style jumpsuits (the kind with the legs and no feeties, and the hood attached), thats how we're doing my daughter's outfit (horray for functionability, cause its going to be her winter-wear too!)

Last year she went as a little homemade lamb and I was her shepard (it was adorable, I had a little cane, and my cloak and she rode in her baby sling all fluffed out in fluffy sherpa)

Now I completely stumped on how to design my costume to match her's (as I want to go as mommy-leopard...got to enjoy these occasions while I can!), but I dont really want that cheapo slutastic walmart "sexy-leopard" look either... I'd like a skirt and top, and legwarmers (the latter I've already got figured out) but the skirt n top I'm just stumped on... any idea's?

The fabric we're making both costumes from, I've got probably 3 or 4 of these blankets just for my costume alone and can always get more...just so anyone with idea's know's what I'm working with haha!!

Here it is!

My horribly barren desk before added spectacular kitty awesomeness....

And my sewing desk AFTER adding spectacular kitty awesomeness!

Isnt it awesome! Look at that awesome blue fabric with the lovely black kitties on it! (if it looks wonky, its cause I shoved it on there with a thread spool still attached to my machine ha ha ha!) It's got the cutest little needle book (which you can kind of see in this pic) in one of the pockets on the organizer, which I just love!! Crissy even added non-slip backing to the organizer's underneath so it wont slip off my table =D (why hadnt I thought of that >.>)

My sewing table looks sooooooooo much coooler now! There's also some really cool puffy sushi stickers (which arent in that picture, they are hiding from my toddler ontop of her dresser ha ha!)

While we wait on photobucket to quit hating on me while I try to upload the rest of the photos, enjoy a picture of my weirdest home-grown tomato ever...
Its a mutant tomato I grew in a pot on my back porch ha ha!! I love this thing!

Moar pics as soon as everything uploads lol!

*edit* whee they uploaded

My awesome puffy sushi stickers haha and my daughter helping herself to one XD

The adorable little matching needlebook is on the left side =P

this one came out a little blurry, must not have had my macro setting on for close ups... but isnt that kitty print adorable!!

The whole thing together =D (forgot to get a pic of the neat no-slip backing, or the inside of the cover...its got an awesome lining fabric!....gotta get that too once my camera charges again ha ha!!)

10  Belly Dancing Poppet Couple (Pic Insane!) in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Tenitsu on: August 03, 2013 06:38:32 PM
For the poppet/ami swap my partner Smeddley loves belly dancing stuffs so I crafted up an awesome pair of Bunny belly dancing poppets =D I trolled her pinterest for a few, then I trolled pinterest in general for every belly dancing picture I could find for some ideas XD Well I wont torture everyone with to long of an intro =D so here they are!

(Pardon my terribly un-imacculate pond in the background XD)
The lovely pair

Some of the little details on the little bunny girl, her ring (craft wire, some of my japanese glass bead collection, and a random diamond shaped bead I found in my box of belly rings =D) Her little gold bangles and a jade/quartz composite ring...and ofc some of the beading on her little top

Her little zills, which I made using those little shank buttons that you cover with fabric and snap together =D, well the innershank that has that little metal piece that actually gets sewn to w/e your sewing it to (im brain fried pardon my lack of proper terminology haha) xD I snapped that little metal piece off and glued the ribbon in a loop to the top of the inner shank, then glued that (love that e6000!!) to the inside of the outer button and voila!

Her hair, which is extra soft yarn which was unraveled strand by strand till her hair was ultra soft then braided into this cute braid I found on Smeddley's pinterest =D

Her fluffy tail which is a pompom (made from the same fluffy yarn as her hair then brushed out to fluffy perfection), her necklace (the back of it) which is twisted and beaded pink craft wire, and her awesome tattoo's which were done with Sharpie's Stained* fabric pens and colored in with Elmers Painters* fabric pens

Her adorable little toes and her anklet made to match her necklace

A nice close up of her face which is all hand sketched and designed, the Scorpio tattoo on her ear and her painted fingernails =D False eyelashes and e6000 epic combination =D

Okies, here's the guy (I didnt get as many upshots of the guy cause my camera died right before I boxed them up haha)

His face is also hand sketched and painted on, His little collar was modeled after something similar on Smeddley's pinterest =D and his hat was to go with the collar but contrast and match the beading on his pants for a little exotic flare

His little pants and a lovely shot of his bad ass abs =D and ofc a shot of his tattoo's, a cute tribal bunny (ha ha get it!! he's a bunny with a bunny tattoo!!) his harem pants are entirely my design (and what a pain they were!), the beads were done by hand to add flare and color

His cute fluffy tail, made ofc just like his partner (the girl bunny) brushed to fluffiness, his hair however was not seperated by strand so his hair has a different look and texture to it...you can sort of see the side splits in the harem pants which were sequined all around the splits for the awesome look and it finished off the edges nicely...and OFC his wicked wings tattoo's =D

Ahhh there we go, the better side shot to show the side splits in the harem pants as well as his awesomely buff arms and fingers =D I couldnt find any little gold bangles that would fit over his hands, so unfortunately his little wrists are kind of bare =D but his toenails and fingernails were painted an off white just to add detail

All the outfits were entirely made by me, no patterns just random shapes I messed with until I got the look I was pleased with =D The waist bands are elastic so they are form fitting without having snaps or velco to take from the look, and the bands around the bottom of the guys pants are elastic'd as well to give more poof to the center of the pants =D

Another cute shot of the little dancing couple

Hope everyone likes them!!
