3591  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Springtime Chunky House on: February 22, 2011 07:24:30 PM
Depending on the status of my other swaps as to when sign ups are, I may be in Smiley

Me too.
3592  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: 1 Dotee, 1 ATC and 4 Inchies Swap - CLOSED Send out Feb. 12, 2011 on: February 22, 2011 07:21:13 PM
Just want to say thanks to all those in Pirate's group who have been PM-ing me with their updates. I can't change the status on the post in the Gallery thread but I am keeping notes. If anyone needs feedback before next week, let me know - I can do that without Pirate.

This has been a great swap - keep on posting and thanks to everyone who participated.

So many things to respond to:

First - thanks for all the recipes. I will definitely try one or all this week. Thanks to all - I do remember looking at muggle.net and The Leaky Cauldron site for craft ideas a while back and I forgot that the recipes were there.

I agree about Crookshanks - I'm sure Molly is taking care of him. And thanks for posting about the number of bones in Harry's arm. I am not an X-ray tech, and I have never broken a bone so that number bothered me because it just didn't seem right. Maybe J.K. was having a bit of fun? Or she forgot like she forgot about the real London train stations.

And I am itching to get started too. I usually make a swap item for myself - for practice and to remember each swap. So maybe I'll get started trying out a few things so I'm ready. And I'm on vacation next week so I'll be raring to go, when partners are assigned.

The Gnomles notebook is so cool - I can't stop thinking about it. Great job.

Good loot, ladies!

Spent about 6 hours, off and on, this long weekend reading "The Goblet of Fire". I am so enjoying the early books - I haven't read them in years. So I'm ready for anything, person or potion my partner desires!

And I will certainly search for the cookbook - I am dying to try butterbeer.

I love the sculpted faces - so unique!

You know, it constantly amazes me and frustrates me that I can receive a piece of mail from the UK or New Zealand in a flimsy paper envelope that contains something thicker than a piece of paper - a postcard, a puzzle piece, a map - and it arrives in pristine condition. And yet, I received pieces of mail that are ripped, shredded, folded or mangled from someone in the USA. Let's blame it on the machines! OR is there something more evil at work here?

For laughs:

I received from lindzyt today and she chose to go with my themes "Art and Artists".

The ATC which has her favorite Picasso quote (you'll see it when she posts!):

All children are artists...

The art inchies:

And the Picasso-inspired dotee:

The face is made from paper clay (I'm guessing) and the nose is definitely a Picasso nose. Sorry, it's late and dark and I'm a crappy photographer anyway. Please post a better photo if you have one, Lindsey.

Such a great addition to my dotee collection - thanks!

Oh, and I found 1" Memory Glass pendants so I can make a 2-sided inchie necklace. It will be difficult to choose just 2!

I'm dilly-dallying around too. Finished one set lickety-split, and now I don't want it to end so quickly - the fun part of deciding and altering - so I'm taking my time. But it will be a crafty weekend for sure.

And you're welcome, goddessgarb - I tried to give everyone a little bit of everything. In the last round, I had themes (from books and movies) that I wasn't familiar with. I agree - it's fun to research the art of the thing you don't know.

Have fun all!
