2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Help...Wet DPN's on: August 14, 2005 06:01:53 PM
Would you believe that I have totally and completely neglected my sock project by letting my daughters bottle (filled with breast milk) leak all night, all over my Crystal Palace DP Bamboo Needles!  And to top it off the yarn is Lorna's Laces...DAMN!

Anyway...the sad part is, my needles where drenched and lost there smooth sheen, and I'm sure there size expanded a little.  Is their anyway I can use some kind of mineral oil to get there sleek sheen back?

Advice anyone Huh

Thanks muches!
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Typepad Bloggers?? on: July 21, 2005 07:42:58 AM
I recently posted a post in the "who has a knitting blog" but I only recieved one reply.

The question was:

How do you add those pretty bottons on your sidebars?   If you know, would you be kind enough to walk me through it.

I thought I had it down, but all that shows up is the link instead of the picture!
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Pick up and knit? on: July 20, 2005 05:27:48 PM
I was wondering if the definition "pick up and knit" is the same as "pick up stitches"?

If not can someone explain "pick up and knit".

Thanks muches!

8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / How many to cast on?? on: July 09, 2005 05:58:34 PM
Okay...my mind is not functioning at the moment! Im knitting a hat for my daughter and Im making up the pattern, but I don't think Im casting on the right amount.

Here's what I have:

the gauge is 19sts/4", her head is 20"...I come up with cast on 95 stiches on a size 6/16" circular. It just doesn't seem right, it seem too small in circumfrence. Can someone help me, please.
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Turning the heel...HELP! on: July 06, 2005 01:20:46 PM
I have a problem! Im trying to knit up my first pair of toddler socks... http://www.soxie.com/kidssock.html

...for some reason when I get to the directions for turning the heel, it seems like there is an error in the pattern...or maybe its just me! It states to work rows one and two until the stitches are gone...but when I get to knitting the 4th row for some reason I run out of stitches. Is it me? Can someone help? Or give me another formula? Thanks.
