You should really consider the Magic Loop method!...I will never go back to those stupid DPNs!  Im also a continental knitter.

It depends on the weight of the yarn and the guage you get...there's always the infamous "Martha Poncho"...they even have it in a knit pattern now!!! hehe!

Wow...I just started to make this blanket using part of the hat pattern given...Being that I never used DPNs before, my work was a disaster.  I had to start over like 5 times.  Finally this last time I noticed that when I start knitting on to the next needle it's really loose???  I also noticed that it was easyier to work with four DPNs instead of 5 ...maybe if I had worked with 5 it could have prevented the loose beginnings???who knows.

Does anyone know of a cute pattern for a baby/toddler size bolero?  I know of a few in books, but I cannot seem to find any on the web...please help. If it's free thats cool, if it's for purchase that's cool too.
