11  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Any Experienced Lampshade Makers out there? I have quams.. on: September 21, 2005 01:21:20 PM
I'm the same person who made the re-upolstered oriental lamp, now I'm onto the Film bandwagon....
and guess what?

I just made this awesome cylander shaped "shade" out of the Pulp Fiction movie trailer film, embroidery thread, ribbon, and some electrical tape. Now I can't decide if I want to use it for a lamp or a candleholder.
If I use it as a lamp, what kind of light do I put under it HuhHuh....
if I use it as a candle lantern -its definite fire hazard, or no, what do you think?

... To get an idea of the measurements, from looking at it...It has the circumference of a coffee can, and the height of 1 1/2 cans (can you picture it?)

I'm thinking of just making some more shades until I find what sort of light I'm looking for....or unless someone out there has some good infofrmation at their disposal

So...in the meantime if anyone out there knows....there has to be something out there!

12  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / anyone make any more Ipod shuffle armbands?? on: September 17, 2005 10:14:01 AM
I was wondering if anyone has a tutorial they want to post for a *mini* ipod arm band. I'm in dire need of one that will withstand heavy excercising and feel comfortable.
Muchos Gracias,

15  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / re-upolstered oriental lamp on: September 12, 2005 01:03:15 PM

the lamp used to be covered with dented rice paper, then I re-upholstered it with silk and used a cherry blossom stencil for a quick design, and now I don't have to buy a new lamp!

16  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / liquor cabinet anthropologie style on: September 12, 2005 12:00:33 PM
I found this on the side of the road. It used to be plain, and then I cut out images of pressed flowers(like the ones seen in Anthropologie) and did a black marker detail around it

here's a close-up of a cut out picture and the detailing I did with a black sharpie marker
