1  Re: The Disney Swap Round 3 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by sevenislucky on: September 01, 2006 06:39:13 PM
I got my package from Haylie yesterday...my other amazing swap angel!  She sent me that gorgeous mirror with an outline of Ariel on it.  Its so pretty and perfect!  I'm completely amazed because I wouldn't have a clue as to how to do that.  I love it!  And then she sent my little sister the sweetest purse!  It says "I love Prince Ali" because that's my sisters favorite prince.  Shes only 3 but if you ask her who she wants to marry she'll tell you Prince Ali.  She LOVES it!  She hasn't stopped carrying it around!  Haylie even put a sweet little stuffed puppy in it...would've taken a picture but my sister won't let go of it.  She even sent us some Little Mermaid stickers that we've been having a blast with.  I love it all so much.

A million thanks to my WONDERFUL swap angels!  You definitely didn't have to do all that...but you two are so sweet and ended up spoiling me...and my sister!  Thank you!!!!!  I love everything!

3  The Gift Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by sevenislucky on: July 06, 2004 06:02:17 PM
I have to admit, I really love my new purse  Grin.  It was actually pretty easy to make. Its just a basic bag with the ribbon and bow sewn onto it.  It only took me about 3 hours (not including the time it took to make the bow) and $5 to make.  Im a freak when it comes to all things green so when I saw the ribbon at walmart I just knew I had to have it.  I actually wanted pink polka dotted ribbon when I started to plan out the bag but I couldnt find any that I liked. But the green worked so all in all Im happy.  If anyone feels like trying to make something like this and needs help just ask Smiley

5  Re:spaghetti friend (cute gift for a baby) in Completed Projects by sevenislucky on: April 12, 2004 03:58:23 PM
the first spaghetti friend i made for my sis was so loved it only had two strands of hair left and wasnt so pink anymore...it is now in spaghetti friend heaven...hehe...anyway...ive made two since then and she loves them soooo much...this is one of the ones i made this weekend: (sorry if the pic is so big)

i also made her a special bunny one for easter...i just used white felt to make it a little furrier...i made ears with white and pink felt instead of using yarn hair...since she sticks everything in her mouth i decided to use pink and black fabric paint for the face and tail...i also stick the bells in the very middle between the stuffing so that its not a choking hazard...thanks again for the great idea momo!

i have a ton of lemonade containers kind of like that...i covered one with mardi gras beads...id post a pic but my uploading area isnt working...all i did was glue them around it with a hot glue gun...it turned out really cute...i used purple beads which were great but if you had the pearly looking ones you could make one that looked kinda classy..lol

8  Simplicity: Design 7161 in Sewing Pattern Reviews by sevenislucky on: December 23, 2003 08:21:25 PM
I've been working with Simplicity's Soft Bags Sewing Patterns For Dummies. These patterns are oh-so-great! I have to admit this was the first time I used a pattern and didn't wing most of it cause I have a habit of getting aggrivated at the directions and end up making them up as I go. I made a bag with pattern E and it turned out okay but I think they real reason I didn't like it that much was cause of the fabric I used. Then yesterday I tried pattern C...I LOVE IT! It took up most of my day but I think now that I have the hang of it I can make one in a few short hours. I had the feeling it was missing something and couldn't decide how I wanted to finish it. Then today while I was checking out  artzyfartzy's wonderful website www.fashioncompassion.com (which I go to at least once a day cause you never know when shes gonna have something oh-so-spiffy-and-new) I saw the "You're Breaking My Heart Bag" which I've been dying to get but been broke cause of Christmas n all. So I made an attempt at making myself a purse kind of like it. I don't think it turned out too bad...not anywhere near as cute as artzyfartzy's...but good.  I just found some heart and bandage clip art, traced it onto felt, cut it out, glued it together, then sewed it on to make sure itd stay. This was the first time I've ever used felt and I think Ill be working with it a lot more now! Now I've just got to get to work on all those other purse patterns....*sigh*...I love Christmas break Grin

9  Re:McCalls 3199 in Sewing Pattern Reviews by sevenislucky on: December 23, 2003 06:58:50 PM
i just wanted to back up what anu said about walmart fabric.  i bought all of these fabrics for no more than 2 bux a yard--vintage flower patterns, mushrooms, flipflops, palm tree monkeys, crazy animals (turtles included!), cat in the hat, etc.  sometimes wallyworld is cheaper--sometimes!

love the skirt!...i made a purse out of that same turtle pattern comfits...cant resist the turtly stuff either!
