1  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Babe Fiberstarter vs Production on: July 06, 2007 10:50:55 PM
I was wondering if anyone in the know could tell me the differences between the babe fiberstarter and Production wheels.  I relly want to get a spinning wheel and have been looking around... i couldnt afford anything beyond a babe unless i find something used so i'm figuring these are my main options.  Any advice on single tredle vs double tredle would also be appreciated!

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / FO: Lace Camisole From Vintage Knits on: July 28, 2005 06:59:20 PM
I Finally finished(well more or less... I havent woven in the loose ends yet) my camisole from Vintage Knits..... I fell in love with this pattern ever since I first saw it right after I first started knitting but I dodnt try to attempt it till this summer.... glad I did thoigh.... I'm pretty happy with how it turned out though I dont like the edging on the top... Its too heavy and curls over itself too much.... the ribbon helps a little bit... i dunno whether blocking would help much though cause its cotton which doesnt block that well from what Ive heard....

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Summer Knitting Binge (picture heavy) on: July 20, 2005 08:22:05 PM

I think this is in part to my joining craftster cause all of you craftsy gals have inspired me sooo much!!

Knitty's tempting: started in December, finished in the end of May

Lion Brand Chenelle Thick and Quick Knitted throw: Started last mothers day... almost finished

Interrupted Rib Baby Blanket (from the Knit List) started November last year... almost done

Sorry for the extremely pic heavy post! But is anyone finding themselves particularly crafty this summer?

Edit: I tried making the pictures smaller... I think that may help more people see them, though you cant see the detail as well as in the larger ones... if you want to see the begger pictures you can go to my webshots website listed below

6  UNITED STATES / Maryland / Howard Co: Celtic Knot Yarn Shop on: June 25, 2005 04:08:08 PM
This is one of my FAVORITE lys! They are located in historic Ellicott City, which is a great place to go for the day and hang out, Old Ellicott City has a great vibe to it and many creatively inspired stores and art gallerys. Celtic Knot Yarn Shop has a S-n-B every Wednesday night which I have yet to go to as I was away @ school all year but look forward to. Friendly staff, student/teacher discount (10% yay!), and the cutest puppy named Purl!
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Finished Tempting... My first sweater : ) on: May 31, 2005 03:30:09 PM
Here it is... my first ever sweater and hopefully not my last!!! Its a tad big but I was pretty glad about how it turned out, especially being my first sweater and all... I don't really like the ribbon thats on there now but it was all i had and I wanted to post this but am going to the store to pick up a pretty new one tomorrow Smiley any suggestions on ribbon color... im torn and so are my family members each wanting a different color and insisting that their pick is the only color that would work
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Knitty Calender Photo Contest on: May 30, 2005 03:47:42 PM
I just got an email about this photo contest for the 2006 Knitty Calender... It sounds really cool and it definitely gives me a really good reason to finish that sweater that I started back in December!! Is anyone else planning on entering??
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / "Vintage Knits"-- suggested patterns?? on: May 29, 2005 01:58:04 PM
I finally bought "Vintage Knits" by Sarah Dallas Smiley... a book I have been drooling over since I taught myself how to knit 2 years ago but that I wanted to wait to buy till I thought I could actually knit something from it without killing myself... anyway has anyone knit anything from this book, or would recommend or not recommend any of the patterns from the book... I love the lace cami but am wondering if it would be too much of an endeavor, I'm just finishing my first sweater (tempting-knitty winter 04/05) and don't want to do something that I wouldnt be able to handle because I heard that the patterns could be quite difficult for beginner/slightly intermediate knitters
