Flying in with my last quidditch matches! More later!

Class: Quidditch Match #2 - Patonga Proudsticks
House: Hufflepuff
S.P.E.W. : N/A
Project Name: Train Trolley Treats
Project Description: A couple of weekends ago, I threw a Hogwarts bash. We feasted and played our new Hogwarts Battle game. It was a blast! Here's the treat station I made in celebration of our wizarding culture! I found this template for the Bertie Bott's, and made up the boxes with little cello bags of ACTUALLY TASTY beans inside, LOL! In the glass bowls, I have some lovely, exotic beans, as well as some Belly Flops (darker bowl.) This let us have fun without any nasty surprises. At one point, we were doing penalties in our game by taking a random assortment of beans and eating them together. Bleh. The coconut ice squares are from this recipe. The butterbeer bottles are spiced rum and butterscotch liqueur, which we were mixing with cream soda for proper butterbeers. I also had pumpkin juice (labeled orange soda bottles) but didn't think to take a picture of those.

The game was so fun that after playing for most of the day (and into the wee hours) on Saturday, we played for quite a few hours more on Sunday! We got through all 7 stages. Smiley

Class: Quidditch Match #3 - Vratsa Vultures
House: Hufflepuff
S.P.E.W. : N/A
Project Name: Jeans for Kiki
Project Description: I found this great tutorial for making BJD jeans and whipped up a pair for Kiki. I had no idea that you could make jeans "flat" like this, so this was a new technique for me. I've always used patterns that had swoops cut out at the crotch to accommodate the booty. I'm thinking this probably only works with stretchy materials, but since I was using an old pair of one of the kids's stretchy skinny jeans, these work great!

That's a great S.P.E.W.!

I have a couple of things to turn in.

Challenge: Floo Powder - Arctic
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: One-yarn Washie
Project Description: Still making new washies for my kitchen. Inspired by the fully light summers of the Arctic, this is fully created from cotton yarn.
Project Pic:

Challenge: Quidditch Match #14 - Grodzisk Goblins
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Petite Pants
Project Description: As it turns out, most of my dolls needed undies. While prepping for the arrival of a newbie, I made 4 new pairs of undies. The green-edged ones were particularly painstaking, using LOTS of pins to get the elastic right. The boyshorts were easier, but still fiddly. Cal scored the first pair, because, as I was sizing them down from a human pattern, I wasn't sure about seam allowances and they came out larger than I wanted. They fit him great, though! The smaller pair is how I had envisioned the final pants!

Class: History of Magic
House: Hufflepuff
S.P.E.W.: N/A
Project Name: Butterbeer Cookies
Project Description:I used this awesome recipe to make Butterbeer Pudding Cookies. I love them!
Project Pic:

Class: Quidditch Match #12 - Thundelarra Thunderers
House: Hufflepuff
S.P.E.W.: N/A
Project Name: Jinbeisan Dangly Charm
Project Description: When one of my daughters fell in love with San-X's Jinbeisan, I couldn't stop myself from making a cute shrinky-dink charm of him! I've used shrinky-dinks a few times, but I'm still in the learning-curve process and they are definitely still outside my comfort zone. I tried using alcohol-based markers on them for the first time, and was pleased with the results. The blue "bubbles" are made with clear shrink plastic, and the whale shark himself is made from opaque white plastic. I sealed him with dimensional glaze, and he turned out a bit bubbly. That's OK since he's an underwater creature, but next time I will experiment with using UV Resin.

I'm back from a trip to WI and catching up on all the great projects, as well as submitting some of my own. Smiley

Class: Alchemy
House: Hufflepuff
S.P.E.W: N/A
Project Name: Lovely Leftovers
Project Description: After seeing the wallet I'd made for myself, one of my daughters requested one for herself. Smiley I love that these can be made with such a small amount of fabric. It's a great project for transforming leftovers into something lovely!
Project Pic:

Challenge: A Pinch of Floo Powder - Aviary
House: Hufflepuff
S.P.E.W: N/A
Project Name: Undersized Undies
Project Description: One of my dolls has been going commando (!!) for far too long and needed some panties. I found a cute pattern and added some elastic to the legs for a better fit. I always think projects like this should take just a few minutes, but after all the pinning and fiddling with elastic, it's never as easy as I think it's going to be. :-/ Still, I love how they came out, and Airi is thrilled to finally have panties, LOL!
Project Pic:

Class: Detention in the Dungeons - July
House: Hufflepuff
S.P.E.W: N/A
Project Name: Bitty Bloomers
Project Description: Another fiddly elastic project. I had cut these out ages ago and then put off sewing them up because of all the elastic work. During my stint in the dungeon, I dug out the fabric pieces and my elastics, and sewed everything up. Kiki does enjoy having some bloomers, because her short tunic tends to flash her undies when she plays.
Project Pic:

Challenge: House Pride
House: Hufflepuff
S.P.E.W: N/A
Project Name: Badgery Blotter
Project Description: I've been needing some new dishcloths in the kitchen, so I knitted up this Huffle-themed one and crocheted a border around the edge.
Project Pic:

Challenge: Quidditch Match #8 - Sumbawanga Sunrays
House: Hufflepuff
S.P.E.W: N/A
Project Name: Green Cleaner
Project Description: I was inspired by the formation looping of the Sunrays to make this dishcloth. There are lots of loops forming the main body, and the edge is formed by looping the yarn an extra time near the beginning of each row.
Project Pic:

Challenge: Quittitch Match #9 - Appleby Arrows
House: Hufflepuff
S.P.E.W: N/A
Project Name: Dotty Dress for Sasha
Project Description: In keeping with the arrow-shooting tradition of celebrating the Appleby Arrows, I sewed this dress for Sasha. I was originally going for an MSD-sized dress, but the proportions were all wrong. Fortunately, they were PERFECT for Sasha, so that was a happy accident.
Project Pic:

Challenge: Quidditch Match #11 - Moose Jaw Meteorites
House: Hufflepuff
S.P.E.W: N/A
Project Name: Sparkly Sumikko Gurashi Bracelet
Project Description: One of my daughters adores the Sumikko Gurashi figures (as do I) and is especially fond of the "Pengin?" character. I used clear flake stickers and UV resin in a cabochon bracelet to make this for her. It might be kind of hard to see in the pic, but after doing a base layer and setting in the sticker flakes and adding another layer of resin, I arranged tiny rhinestones all around the circumferences of the circles before encasing them in more resin.

House: Hufflepuff
S.P.E.W.: N/A
Project Name: Shinies Snap Case
Project Description: I had a cute, plastic Totoro lanyard/card case but a few seams have blown out and my shinies kept falling to the ground. I made this case to keep them safe, and to hold my shiny dojang key.
Project Pic:

Class/Challenge: Flying
House: Hufflepuff
S.P.E.W.: N/A

House: Hufflepuff
S.P.E.W.: N/A
Project Name: Comfy and Confident Armies
Project Description: Even though I didn't have a pattern for these arm warmers, I was confident in my ability to make the pattern, complete with thumbhole. Smiley
Project Pic:

Class/Challenge: Quidditch Match #13 - Tutshill Tornadoes
House: Hufflepuff
S.P.E.W.: N/A
Project Name: Tiny Snitch-Catching Wristers
Project Description: Although these are super tiny and pretty quick to knit, they take longer than you might imagine. Or maybe I'm just a slow knitter. All the same, they qualify for the Tutshill Tornadoes quick-catch challenge!
Project Pic:

Class/Challenge: Quidditch Match #15 Ballycastle Bats
House: Hufflepuff
S.P.E.W.: N/A
Project Name: Default Dishcloth
Project Description: Knitting has become one of my preferred mediums, and I used a time-tested, well-loved pattern ("Grandma's Favorite") to make this dishcloth. In spite of being Quiberion pink, this one's for the Ballycastle Bats!

A few rolling in from me. I always think that tiny knitting should go quickly, but I guess when you scale down the needles and yarn to go with the size, it's still going to take the same amount of time to knit the same number of stitches. Tongue

Challenge: Floo Powder - Muggle Excuses Office - Anniversary Challenge 2014, Sign the Parchment
House: Hufflepuff
S.P.E.W.: N/A
Project Name:Slouchy hat for Durango

Thanks, Noodle! And I'm so glad you like the magnets! Cheesy

Challenge: Headmistress Challenge - June
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Spumoni Hair Tamer
Project Description: As a martial arts student and instructor, I find hair in my face super annoying during class. I decided it was time for a summery cotton hairband to keep things under control! I used this pattern, but modified it by knitting it longer, omitting the ties, and sewing the ends together.

Class: Herbology
House: Hufflepuff
S.P.E.W.: N./A.
Project Name: Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Cheesecake
Project Link: https://www.verybestbaking.com/recipes/106180/no-bake-chocolate-cheesecake-pie/
Project Description: The strawberry cheesecake had disappeared (family of 6) and the big girls were requesting a chocolate cheesecake this time. I used the linked recipe, except that I made the crust from: 1 package Glutino chocolate sandwich cookies (minus NO test cookies, lol!), about 1/3 c almond meal, 3 T butter, all crushed up together and packed into a Springform pan. Additionally, I added about 1/3 c mini choco chips to the filling. Yum! Cheesy  The mini chips were a brain wave I had because the cream cheese in the filling would NOT get smooth. FOor the first recipe, I melted it a bit and it got nice and creamy, but this recipe simply called for beating it hard with an electric mixer. Unfortunately, this left tiny little bitty lumps of cream cheese in the filling no matter how much I kept beating it. I added the mini choc chips because I knew that their texture would hide any remaining lumps in the cream cheese. ^_^

Class: Transfiguration

S.P.E.W.: N./A.
Project Name: Bear Hat
Project Description:  I was inspired by our beetles-to-buttons homework to make this bear hat with a "button nose." ^_^ Pippa isn't sure about it yet.

Project Name:Matcha Chocolate Truffles
Project Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtJna6lWWfY&t=109s

Class:DADA
House: Hufflepuff
S.P.E.W.: N/A
Project Name: Comforting Cheeescake
Project Link:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkHw8nsG5LY
Project Description: 2 of my daughters were in the throes of miserable cramps, and BOTH were craving cheesecake. As it happened, I had JUST watched this video recipe and been inspired, so it was perfect timing! I made a couple of changes to the recipe. My springform pan is about 8.5" in diameter (inside measurement), so I doubled both the filling and the topping quantities. And because most of us are GF, I made the crust from 1 package of Glutino Vanilla Creme sandwich cookies (minus ONE taster cookie), smashed up with about 1/2 t cinnamon, 1/4 c almond meal and 3T butter. This definitely overcame the malevolence of the Obscurus. Smiley I swirled a few drops of red food colouring into the cheesecake layer, and put 2 drops into the gelatin as well.
