21  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Felt Fortune Cookies on: February 10, 2013 02:24:40 PM
I'm so happy with how easy and cute these felt fortune cookies turned out. They took virtually no time at all. I just put messages in mine, but if you made them a little bigger you could also add small candies.

22  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Super Hero Valentine's Day Suckers on: February 04, 2013 06:32:14 PM
My son and I worked on his Valentine's for preschool this last weekend. As a 4 year old boy he LOVES Super Heroes. The only bad thing about working on them now is that my son will likely ask every day until Valentine's Day whether he can take them to school today. Smiley

23  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Button Flowers on: January 29, 2013 06:07:40 PM
Check out these flowers made of (mostly) vintage buttons. I love gifting these!

The only supplies needed are buttons, floral/craft wire, pliers and a vase. They are a bit time consuming to make a full bouquet, but the finished product is well worth it.

24  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / First Tag Blanket on: January 20, 2013 08:27:56 PM
I was pretty happy with how my first tag blanket turned out. I hope my son's daycare teacher loves it. I enjoyed making it and I'm sure I'll make others for shower gifts in the future too.

Check out my step by steps (including a few missteps) here.

25  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / DIY Rock Photo Holders on: January 15, 2013 10:22:46 AM
I've been planning my husband's 40th birthday party and making several things to use as decorations. These photo holders I made out of rocks and floral wire were probably one of the easiest things I've made in a very long time. We had a theme of "40 Rocks" so it felt appropriate. I think they'd be good for a beach wedding too or to display beach vacation photos at home.

Here's a link to the step by step. http://sometimes-homemade.com/2013/01/15/diy-rock-photo-holder-40-rocks/

26  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Doll Sleeping Bag on: January 10, 2013 06:37:41 PM
I made Doll Sleeping Bags for my nieces' American Girl Dolls. I based it off of the pattern I bought from the Flossie Teacakes site http://flossieteacakes.blogspot.com/2011/07/three-bears-sleeping-bag-pdf-pattern.html

It was a challenging project since I hadn't sewn anything on a machine in over 15 years! I had to increase the size of the sleeping bags in order to accommodate the 18" American Girl dolls.

Here are pictures and links back to the project.
