21  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: My Christmas Suite... on: November 27, 2007 09:26:22 PM
whoa!! that is intense! what a great idea!! i kept trying to think of a cheap, yet fabulous way to decorate my 3rd-4th grade sunday school room for Christmas...and i think this might work! thanks for such a great idea!! Smiley

No problem!  It's not even that hard to do... if you don't do the entire room... especially the ceiling.  It is helpful though to tape the pieces before hanging them (we tried putting the tap on the wall first and holding the paper and then taping, but having the tape on the paper first worked best!)
22  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / My Christmas Suite... on: November 27, 2007 11:31:26 AM
A little different than the Nutcracker Suite... last year the girls in my suite and I did some Christmas decorating.

Ever wonder what it would look like to be *inside* a Christmas present?  We wallpapered with wrapping paper...

We used about 6 rolls this long I think.

And me rolling up some tape.  We used about 3 rolls.

In the US, it is called Sponge Candy.  I've made it before and dip in chocolate so it's like Australia's violet crumble.  Or the Cadbury Crunchie bar which is pretty much the same too.

Those are great!  And they look super easy... unfortunately I wear earrings once about every other three months.  (Pretty much never.)  Nice job!
25  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: TONS of wallpaper samples.... on: June 07, 2006 03:43:13 PM
I have 15 huge wallpaper sample books... we are using some for collage with the kids at the camp im running. Any other ideas?

I work at a camp too... we have lots and lots of wallpaper sample books (plus excessive amounts of tulle but that's another story... honestly it sounds fun (endless quantities of tulle) but it's really not...) My favorite things to make out of the wallpaper are baskets (weave the paper) and little oragami boxes (or big oragami boxes).

Have fun!

i've never gotten this whole staples thing...how do they do that?

It's not like a normal stapler or anything.  I've seen it used before but I don't exactly remember how it works.
27  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: my funky song lyric jeans (img heavy) on: January 01, 2006 01:41:18 PM
I would steal some pockets from another pair of jeans and sew 'em in place.  You could write on them first if you wanted or whatever... I think this is probably the best solution unless you really don't want to cover up that part wear you wrote on.  If you don't have any extra jeans you can take the pockets from, you could always pick up a cheap pair from the thrift store for like $1.

Good luck!
28  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: anyone have a knitting pattern for a simple hoodie on: November 10, 2005 09:52:10 PM
