11  Crafty Charity Shop Finds! in ENGLAND by knittingal on: July 21, 2006 11:05:09 AM
Hi! This board is for posting all of your crafty finds from charity shops - some of the most amazing things I've got for crafting have been from these places - I'll now share with you my latest find...
Well, I recently finished my exams, but whilst I was revising for them I decided that I wanted need a break and so I cleared out my room and donated a huge bag of stuff. I took my wallet and boy was I glad I did  Grin
I found two lever arch files bursting with knitting patterns.... it's one of those things where you buy a magazine weekly/fortnightly and build up the collection. Firstly they tend to be very expensive, secondly the person who'd donated these had collected practically two series full Shocked
Here's the files :-

Just showing how many patterns are in there:-
(remember to times this by two!)
Examples of some of the patterns:-
I would love to do this in navy and white....

it looks so soft!
  an evening knitted top...
Sorry about the flash on these pics...
These are just a few of the patterns, the files also include tips on different stitches/ buttons etc..
all in all i think that was a very satisfactory find! and the best part? the files (plus a set of dpns) came to a grand total of........2!!!!

12  These booties are made for walking! in Knitting: Completed Projects by knittingal on: June 20, 2006 11:57:33 AM
Well I wanted something different to knit - and came across these gorgeous booties here http://www.dreamweaveryarns.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=22_77_146&products_id=741 (original post faraboverubies)

I don't have a specific recipient for these, so I didn't do them in the ruby red (but when I do I will!)
So here they are in green (with pearly buttons)

There's one on its own....

and this picture is because I couldn't get over how small they were (excuse inky fingers - just done a three hour exam)

Hi - I got these cards from a Christmas cracker this year - they're too small (and slippery) to play with, but I don't wanna throw them away - they're so cute:-

this is the box they came in, and this....

15  *lmao* the strangest mittens I've ever seen :) in Stitch And BOTCH by knittingal on: June 06, 2006 09:18:26 AM
Now I'd been looking enviously at the mittens other talented craftsters had made... and thought "I could do that"....
well i collected together some pretty wool (the colour of refreshers) and added stripes - well a girl's gotta have stripes...
I figured that if I knitted the two shapes I could sew them together... so i dutifully measured my hand and turned up with this Smiley

so i sewed it together (i'm not much of a sewer either) and didn't know whether to laugh or cry when i put it on Smiley
