I used vintage pillowcase fabric for the lining and hid some ugly sewing with lots of seed beads

14  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Cheap Hooped earring to classy bangle on: October 14, 2005 11:40:14 AM
A few months ago My friend had a fancy dress party and I wore these pretty naff hooped earrings , so im sitting here looking at them thinking "yuk" and suddenly I have an idea..........

A pretty bangle !!

So easy !!!   All you need to do is remove the sharp piece that goes into your ear and find two beads that will fit , you may want to add some strong glue , but i just twisted mine and they stuck solid.

17  U.K. AND IRELAND / ENGLAND / UK tutorial zine on: October 11, 2005 12:28:10 PM
Im interested in starting a online swap of tutorials.

All tutorials could be made to a maximum of 2 pages of A4 , either handwritten and scanned , or produced in programme on your PC.

You could then email this tutorial to people who have also produced a tutorial , where they can print it off , after recieving so many you could make a book , and decorate or whatever you wish.

The tutorial could be on anything , knitting , sewing , shrinky dinks , beading , as long as it is craft related.  maybe something youve designed yourself , a pattern or a technique.

Just throwing the idea about at the moment as a suggestion ,   I think it would work best if we had a number of people who wished to participate , say 20 , then we all started and had a certain time to produce them , we could then post pictures of our finished tutorial book and how we  and decorated them and such.

Also what would be fun is to add a little profile of yourself , with a pic on your page.

What do you all think , would anybody like to join ?

Edited ;

So far we have the following people who woul dlike to add to this , they are as follows

Lynnidings        -  Simple book making or a wet felt tutorial
Nushybum        -  Glass Painting tutorial
Purplefluffycow  - Jewellery making tutorial

And myself , I could possibly do a tutorial for making a bag , knitting , pom poms etc

Id really like more people to join this could be amazing if we get enough to contribute.
18  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Knitted bag ( fendi #2) on: October 10, 2005 10:23:28 AM
As a second attempt at the fendi bag , I decided to cut the ruffle completly as im just not a girly ruffled thing person.

I also ditched the leather strap and made a more robust knitted one , lined the back with vintage fabric , and fully lined the bag with the same fabric on the strap using my sewing machine ( ARgHH) .

Also added a button that is functional.

19  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Finally !! I got myself some shrinky dinks on: October 09, 2005 12:51:39 PM

After months of wishing for this stuff I managed to get some , yee hah

I made these little charms , typical english vegetables and a hungry little snail after them.

All hand drawn , but what now ?  Charm Bracelet , keyring , necklace , earrings ?

What do you think......

20  U.K. AND IRELAND / ENGLAND / Swap Craft supplies on: October 07, 2005 03:18:25 AM
I had a brainwave last night , looking at my ever expanding hoard of craft goodies , I thought alot of this stuff will proberly just be sitting here for ages.

If anybody is interested I thought we could start a swapping of craft goods.

For example , we could write a list of "what we have" , and "what we would like". Maybe including finished articles too that could be swapped for craft supplies.

People could then check the lists and PM the person privately to arrange the swapping of stuff.

What do you reckon ?

Obviously it would be best to keep this to UK residents only due to postage and time people have to wait etc.

Lists could be easily edited as items are swapped , and new items could be added.
