I'm going to make custom dolls for myself to display on the bookshelf in my sewing area. I have to clean up the shelf and come up with design ideas but it will get done sometime this year.

I was lucky (unlucky?) in that the two I got were visibly cockeyed as soon as I unfolded them to cut them.
I've learned if I want fat quarters, my best bet is my local Walmart. I've bought a few for small projects and they were all even or close enough that it didn't make a difference in the project I was using it for.

I've only ever bought two fat quarters from JoAnn's and they were both cut cockeyed so I know how you feel. Angry

Small things still count, wryly Smiley

So I just had a friend offer me his niece's Monster High dolls. She didn't have a lot of them and took good care of them but has decided she's too old for dolls. They tried selling the dolls at a garage sale but they didn't go (most people in my area seem to be opposed to MH dolls). I almost said no (I've already got quite a dolly stash via eBay finds several years ago) but I've heard that Mattel is discontinuing the Monster High line (the only dolls I've seen in store recently were the ones with fixed joints, like Barbie) so I asked him to bring them to me when he could.

This kinda has an 80s vibe going on (so does the previous, similar design). I really like the idea of bracelets for this doll. I just have to find my gold-colored wire so that I can make them.

Goddess vibe. The style of dress was inspired by the dress Mystique wore in the 90s X-Men animated series.

I just can't settle on a design for her and it's driving me nuts. I've been doing prep-work on another doll to keep myself occupied so I figured that I may as well propose her as a Research Project, too.

Research Project Name: Espeon Girl (such a creative title)
Team: Fandom
Brief Description: While rummaging thru my doll stash box in search of shoes/accessories, I found an Operetta doll, who has the perfect skin tone for an Espeon doll. She had some scarring and tattooing that I'm working to fix (working usually helps me come up with ideas) while I ponder a design for Umbreon. She'll get the same treatment: multiple outfit concepts then I'll start restyling the doll.

I found this and have been meaning to try it. It calls for Sharpie paint pens and scrapbook stickers but you could probably use a stencil of a different kind.

MellyBelly I love those prints/colors together.

My monster child has gone to bed at a decent hour the past two nights (8PM! Shocking!) and I'm hoping he does again tonight so that I can try to do a little bit of organizing in the craft storage/computer room as well as my craft space (which is in the dining room area). I work well with chaos when it comes to making things (working on things here and there without much organization) but the disorganized chaos of my storage is starting to drive me crazy.
