He really likes his slippers: my mother-in-law came over today because I had a dentist appointment and the first thing he did was show her his slippers saying "See! See!" Grin
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Crochet slipper pattern for little girl? on: October 13, 2017 09:31:50 AM
Anyone have a go-to they could share with me? I need a size 13 or 1.
I'm crocheting slippers for Christmas for my cousin's daughter and am trying to find a pattern for just a super simple slipper. All the ones I've found were kinda frilly and, though she loves frills, I wanted something plain that I could make into bunny slippers because she LOVES bunnies.
A lot of the simple patterns I've found say "try it on the child as you go", which I can't do because my cousin lives over an hour away. Even if we lived closer, I want it to be a surprise for her.

Thanks for the tutorial, bunny! I must have missed it on the Nerd Games thread Tongue Bags like this would be great to pack stuff for traveling and I know a few people who are looking to do some traveling next year. Also, probably make a great "kit bag" to send to soldiers who might need them. (True, one can no longer mail packages to "any soldier" but I'm sure once my hubs goes overseas he'll know at least one person who  lost or forgot to pack a small bag to organize/keep his razors and such in.)

kbrison, I'm very happy to report he actually wore them for two hours last night before he finally took them off and laid them on the living room rug. I think his feet got hot because my feet tend to get hot, which is why I'm often barefoot in my house even when it's freezing cold out.

Thanks Smiley

Best part is he actually wears them! He wore them a couple of hours last night before he took them off. I think his feet got warm: if his feet get hot, he yanks his socks/shoes off, too.

Those slippers are adorable! I wonder how long he'll keep them on his feet!  Cheesy

Surprisingly, he wore them for a couple of hours last night before he took them off. I'm guessing his feet got too warm. Smiley

Squishy puff quilt! Cheesy I love those things! And yours is very pretty Renstar! :3

Lindy I love that "DIY or DIE" patch. And that necklace that looks like it's growing crystals is lovely!

Ooh, sheep's gonna be Luna! I love it! I applaud anyone who's got the patience to crochet with thread.

Bunny is a sewing MACHINE! Shocked Those pouches look so nice. I, too, am curious what pattern you use.

After much crocheting and frogging and crocheting again, and fighting the toddler for the yarn (he loves bright colors), I've finally finished my toddler's slippers:

Who needs bunny slippers when you can have PIKACHU? Grin They got their own post over on the crochet board. And as soon as I tidy my notes, I hope to share the pattern for them.

Prompt: October - Hair

Bonus Points: Community, Engineering
Project Name: Pikachu toddler slippers

Who wants bunny slippers when you could have PIKACHU slippers instead? Grin My toddler is in love with bright colors and seems to be particularly enamored with Pikachu. Any time I wear my Pikachu pj shirt he tries to snuggle the Pikachu. And he even tried pulling the Pikachu cutout off of the window at our local gaming store. Cheesy So when I couldn't find a boyish slipper pattern that I liked, I decided to make up my own and turn them into Pikachu. This fits the hair prompt because they're made of yarn.

My 18 month old isn't really interested in the Pokemon show but he does love my Pikachu shirt; I think it's because Pikachu's bright yellow.
I made up the pattern as I went along on the first one and took notes as I went so that I could make the second one match. They're not a *perfect* match, but my son doesn't care.

As soon as I clean up my notes, I'll try to share the pattern.

Thanks. Smiley
I've got to remake the Pikachu ears. I only had one pair made but they're missing. I've turned the house upside down and can't find them. I'm thinking my monster might have thrown them in the trash and today was trash day. For some reason, he likes putting random things in the trashcan. I caught him throwing my cellphone away one day! Shocked
