Project Name: Link's Hats
Project Link: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=451319.0
These hats were inspired by smileyyogini, who crocheted a Link hat for me a few years ago in a swap. I LOVE my Link hat and had a few friends request Link hats as gifts. Well, I didn't have the pattern on hand so I crocheted these by just looking at my hat. If I had half a brain, I would have actually just counted the stitches/rows to make it easier for myself Roll Eyes

Project Name: Link's Other Hat
Project Link: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=451319.0
This hat was started after the others were finished (end of December) but I put off finishing it to make other things (which I need to photograph). So it sat in my crochet basket with just three rows worked on it until earlier this evening when I finally decided to finish it. This hat is to go with the other Link hats but it wasn't a gift request: I crocheted it just so that I could say I had made a hat in each of the colors from the Four Swords Adventure.

92  Link's hats in Crochet: Completed Projects by RedheadWithThread on: January 10, 2017 09:38:50 PM
I had a few friends request Link hats as gifts after they saw the one that the amazing smileyyogini crocheted for me a few years ago in a swap.
Instead of being smart and counting the stitches/rows, I just stared at the hat then started working. My hubs pointed out my silly mistake after I had the third hat half complete. Roll Eyes
The first three are gifts, the fourth is just to complete the set.

I am waaaay behind on commenting on all the lovely things here! I just want everyone to know that y'all are amazing and to keep on being awesome! Kiss

I do have some projects to post, too:
An elf for my friend Booboo (EVERYONE calls her that)

Ranger cookies I made a few weeks ago for our Game Night (I used walnuts instead of pecans)

My little froggy's first stocking

A couple of dice bags for some friends

I crocheted a hat for my cousin's little girl but I don't think I got a picture of it before I wrapped it up! Tongue
I also need to take pictures of my wedding veil (it was super quick to make), my wedding bouquet, and the two table centerpieces I crocheted (they're amis). I also have a few more dice bags that need pics.

94  Baby's first Christmas stocking in Winter Holidays by RedheadWithThread on: December 22, 2016 08:23:29 PM
This year is my son's first Christmas and this is his first stocking, handmade with love.
He's already given it his seal of approval: he drooled on it and tried to eat it. Roll Eyes

I made it using this free pattern from Ravelry. I messed up on the toe: I made it a bit too long. But at least my little guy has a stocking now! Cheesy

95  Dice bags in Crochet: Completed Projects by RedheadWithThread on: December 22, 2016 08:17:19 PM
I crocheted the two of these up last weekend for a couple of friends who were new the monthly Magic: The Gathering night hubby and I host once a month at our house. They saw the dice bag I had crocheted for my hubby and asked if I could make them dice bags.
One friend requested "any shade of purple" so I used Caron Deep Violet for his bag. The other friend requested "the brightest yarn you've got" so I used Red Heart Neon Stripes for his bag.

These are very simple to make and work up very quickly.
Here's a pattern for them:
12 DC in magic ring
2 DC in each DC around; 24 sts
*DC, 2 DC in next st*, repeat around; 36 sts
*DC in next 2 sts, 2 DC in next st*, repeat around; 48 sts
DC around evenly until bag is the desired depth.
For the last row:
*DC in next 2 sts, ch 1, sk next st*, repeat around; 48 sts (including the ch 1s)
For the drawstring, just chain until you reach the desired length then tie it off and make a knot at either end. It shouldn't come untied but I always burn the ends with a lighter, just to be sure. Keep in mind that I used acrylic yarn for these. I don't think you'd want to burn the ends on wool!

Project Name: Christmas Elf for Booboo
Project Link: Here
This was a Christmas gift for a good friend. I made it as an improved version of the elf I made a few years ago for a coworker's sister-in-law. This one is taller and, in my opinion, much cuter than her counterpart. She was made with a different sized hook and given plastic eyes instead of embroidered eyes. She was going to have a mouth like the other one but I forgot. Roll Eyes

For reference, this was the original elf:

97  Christmas Elf in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by RedheadWithThread on: December 22, 2016 07:49:47 PM
This cute little elf was made for a good friend who mentioned she wanted an elf decoration for her home but thinks that the Elf on the Shelf is creepy.
As someone who shares that sentiment, I decided to crochet her an elf that is more on the cute side.

This is the only picture I got because I had forgotten to take pictures of her and didn't realize it until my hubby and I were almost there.
If anyone is curious, to make her hat have a slight point, I started with eight DC in a magic ring and it stands up because I pulled the stitches really tight.

Project Name: Ranger Cookies for Game Night
At least once a month my hubby and I host a game night at our house. It's never a lot of people, just five or six people and that's including the two of us. We play Magic: The Gathering and sometimes Cards Against Humanity (I love that game). We usually have some sort of chips for a snack but I decided since it's the holiday season I would bake some cookies for tonight. The improvisation was using walnuts instead of pecans, which I had never done with this recipe before. I think I actually prefer the walnuts over pecans for these cookies.

Thanks, I need it.
Here's an updated photo:

For the wedding, I'll just be adding the horns to his helmet and adding her goggles. There are lots more details to both of them but those will have to wait til later because I have to finish my bouquet, which probably won't be as magnificent as I wanted.

Definitely should count as a Research Project, or come really, really close:
This is 12 hours in. Chandra's (left) hair was awful to style! It wouldn't stay so I used hairspray on it. And trying to make Garruk taller yet proportionate (not too skinny, not too chubby and Chandra's head around his shoulder height) was a PITA!
If I swore to never do something like this again I'd probably be lying because I like a challenge. But I won't try to do something like this on a time crunch again.
Now I've got to make the little detail pieces for them.
