I think the hardest part for the Vault Dweller outfit will be finding that right shade of blue.
I've got the pattern figured out and I started on Egon's jumpsuit:

There's muslin on the inside because the only fabric I had in the proper shade of blue was a jersey knit so I fused it to the muslin with fusible webbing. It's working out pretty great so far Smiley The only pink I had were some scraps with a brown paisley print so I've sewn it with the print on the inside.
I've called it quits for today because I'm tired of sewing tiny seams Tongue

I've been doing a bit of frankensteining with the patterns I got from DGRequiem to make a jumpsuit pattern:

She's hosting a contest where the challenge is to "franken fashion" your own outfit using pieces of her patterns. I was going to do this anyway but the possibility of winning free patterns made me finally get my butt in gear and get to work on it! I wanted to make a jumpsuit pattern so that I can make a Vault Dweller custom and an Egon Spengler custom (The Real Ghostbusters version). Eventually, I'm going to make a female jumpsuit, too, because I also want to make a female Vault Dweller custom. I don't know when I'll get around to those customs, but I'll have the patterns ready for when I do! Grin

When I finish tweaking the pattern, I'm going to make a post with how I made the pattern: I have to tell it for the contest so I may as well share it here, too!

Roler, I LOVE that bunny creature and that mushroom pouch. That purple really goes great with that olive green.

"The desire to create is one of the deepest yearnings of the human soul." - Dieter Uchtdorf
Crafting has always been a big part of my life: I grew up watching my mom, several aunts, and maternal grandmother crafting. As a result, I've always had a desire to make things by hand. About 60% of my little froggy's bibs are small bibs made for babies and newborns. Since he's transitioning to the toddler stage, he needs bigger bibs to keep him clean. So I made this toddler bib using this pattern that I found on Pinterest. The front is made with Spiderman flannel (the same flannel I used to make some burp cloths for when he was tiny) and the backing is black canvas. Since I didn't have any bias tape and didn't feel like fiddling around making some, I just sewed them together with the right sides facing then flipped it, pressed it with an iron, and made a narrow edge with a straight stitch.

I'll be making a few more bibs, another one or two with Spiderman (depending on how much of the fabric is left) and several with some nice plaid flannel I found at the bottom of my stash.

So I went ahead and finished his new pants (they needed less work than I thought! Roll Eyes) and I'm super proud of them. I'm more proud of these than the jeans, even though the jeans took longer to make. And I'm proud of those tiny socks! I've made MH sized socks before but the material was too thick so they didn't look quite right and were hard to fit into the shoes. These are made of a super thin jersey knit and are just the right thickness so I don't have to struggle to get his shoes on his feet!

I just noticed that the color of his pants look washed out: they're not beige but a warmer, more sandy brown.

I repainted this Monster High gargoyle boy's face around 2014/2015 but never got around to posting pics of him Roll Eyes But the jeans are new: I made them several weeks ago but never posted them here Roll Eyes Though they do look nice on him, I've decided denim doesn't suit Jinx's personality so I made him new ones (second pic). The second pair of pants are a warmer brown in person: my camera washed out the color Tongue

These pants have a little detail most people wouldn't think to put into tiny doll's jeans: ACTUAL POCKETS. The pattern I used (from DGRequiem on Etsy) had pieces to make imitation pockets which were basically slits to put the dolls hands in but couldn't actually hold anything. Being the nutcase detail-oriented person that I am, I tweaked the pattern a bit and gave him usable pockets, the linings of which were made from actual pocket lining, cut from the jeans that supplied the denim for these.
After some thought, I've decided jeans just don't suit his character and am working on new pants for him so expect another photo of him soon Smiley

For anyone curious about the stickers in the background: the green one is the NVIDIA GeForce logo and the blue ones are from Magic: The Gathering's Aether Revolt sealed event boxes.

Okay so it's not much to look at but this quesadilla was delicious!

I meant to take photos of it to show what's inside before I sealed it but I forgot Roll Eyes It's based on the chicken bacon ranch club quesadilla offered at Moe's Southwest Grill. It's a whole wheat tortilla filled with seasoned baked chicken, black beans, shredded cheddar, shredded Colby Jack, diced tomatoes, crispy bacon, and a squirt of ranch dressing. They were a hit with my hubs and the friends we had over. I had a friend ask for the recipe so I will attempt to write one up but when I make up my own recipes, they're usually not an exact science! Lol.

Hello! Cheesy
I've managed to escape my tiny overlord's clutches for the weekend (my parents have him) and sat down to draw a bit.
I made two sketches of the tiny overlord in Disney style.

90  Lucius, Disney style in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by RedheadWithThread on: April 21, 2017 12:15:29 AM
Yesterday I decided since my parents have the baby for the weekend that I would sit down and sketch a bit.
So what did I draw? My son, Lucius, because I have lots of photos of him that I could use as references.
But I've never drawn a baby in my style (which is a sort of comic book-esque style) so I decided to draw him Disney style.

I realize that it's typically only the baby Disney girls that have the pouty mouths but he's really good at doing that pouty face so it fits. The hands are a bit off/arms are too short but this is the first drawing I'd made in quite some time (at least a year, I believe).

This one was based on a photo I have of him and his Mickey Mouse (he LOVES Mickey Mouse).

I may make some more drawings pf him before the weekend is over. If I do, I'll update this post.
