Prompt: January- Three Billy Goats Gruff
Team: Fandom
Bonus Points: UFO
Project Name: Snuggly baby things
I made this set of three baby things for my little sprog, who's due at the end of March. The cocoon was made using this pattern from Red Heart, the booties are from this pattern from Crochet Hooks You, and the hat was made from my own pattern, which involved some trial and error. I sort of used three skeins for this: two skeins of Loops and Threads Charisma Baby in Aqua (though it looks more blue to me) and the remnants of a skein of white.

I've made two things so far this year and am working on a third project!

For my boyfriend's best friend, a hat in LSU's colors:

I'll probably make a few more hats to go along in a post with this before giving it a thread. I'd feel silly putting one hat in its own thread Tongue
Yarns used:
Caron Pound of Yarn in Deep Purple
Red Heart Super Saver in Gold

A car seat blanket for my little sprog-to-be:

It measures 24"x30", which is just a bit bigger than the measurements I found for a car seat blanket but that's okay with me Smiley The next blanket I'll be making will be a crib blanket for when he's older. I'll probably start on it soon and work on it throughout the year Smiley
Yarn used:
Loops and Threads Charisma Baby in Toy Train

Prompt: December - Sock Monkey
Team: Fandom
Project Name: Chad's hat
Project Link: Here
Sock monkeys are very soft and, traditionally, they're a lovely shade of charcoal grey, much like the yarn I used for this hat. I had made it just for something to keep my hands busy while we were visiting his grandparents in Arizona over the holidays and my fiance decided he wanted it.

Prompt: December - Rubik's Cube

Project Name: Colorful hats

The stickers on a Rubik's Cube are brightly colored, much like these hats. Smiley

7 of these 9 hats were crocheted while my fiance and I were visiting his grandparents in Arizona.

106  So many hats in Crochet: Completed Projects by RedheadWithThread on: December 30, 2015 08:19:39 PM
Most of these hats were made while my fiance and I were visiting his grandparents in Arizona for the week of Christmas. The only ones that weren't are the purple one and the reddish orange one. The purple one is mine, the grey one is my fiance's, the reddish orange one is my dad's and the others were just made for the heck of it Tongue

Yarns used (from l to r starting with the first photo):
Red Heart Super Saver in Red Hot
Red Heart Super Saver in Claret
Red Heart Super Saver in Skipper Blue
Red Heart Super Saver in Cherry Red
Caron Pound of Yarn in Deep Purple
Red Heart Super Saver in Skipper Blue
Lion Brand Heartland in Great Smoky Mountain

Expect more hats from me throughout the next year: I'm going to attempt to set up a table at a street fair in my hometown and hats are pretty popular.

107  Re: What's your OBSESSION Swap GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by RedheadWithThread on: December 29, 2015 09:36:38 PM
First is Nana from Orange Caramel dressed as Red Riding Hood. It's from their video Catallena, which was one of nowheresound's favorites. I didn't realize til now that I forgot to make her a white apron Roll Eyes

Next we have a tote with "I'm the genie of the toaster!" which was from the show Big Fat Quiz of the Year. I'm tempted to make myself one like this because it's cute and silly.

Third was a small cross-stitch. It was a facial outline with a defined mane of hair like Nick Grimshaw's with "The Quiff" stitched beneath it. Sadly, I didn't get a pic of it. Sad

PS, sorry it took so long! I had a LOT of pics to go thru because I went photo crazy while on a week-long stay in Arizona.

My latest works:

The hat I made yesterday and the blanket I finished up yesterday after working on it off and on for about three weeks. The hat's for my boyfriend's Grandpa Bob, who is a Red Sox fan, and the blanket is for Grammy Faye, who he says loves soft things.
The "B" applique was made from this pattern that I found via Pinterest. The blanket is simply a large granny square.

Prompt: Free Range (1st)
Team: Fandom
Project Name: Boston Red Sox beanie
My boyfriend and I are going to be spending the week of Christmas with his grandparents in Arizona. When I asked my boyfriend what to make them, he said he wasn't sure because whatever they want, they just buy it so they probably didn't really want or need anything. But he did say that Grandpa Bob loves the Boston Red Sox so I decided to make him a beanie with the iconic "B" on it. I had wanted to make it in navy blue so that I could make the "B" in their signature red with white trim but I didn't have any navy yarn. And since I'm trying to de-stash, I went with a red hat with a white "B". I made the "B" applique using this pattern that I found via Pinterest (that's where I find most of the awesome patterns I use).

Prompt: Big Time (1st)

Project Name: Granny Square Lap Blanket
This is what I made for Grammy Faye's Christmas present. My boyfriend said she loves soft things and appreciates handmade things. I used Lion Brand Homespun Thick & Quick so that it would work up really fast. I'm not really sure how long it took to make but I know it was more than 5 hours. I'm also not quite sure how big it is because I didn't measure it and since I've already packed it in my suitcase, I'm not going to measure it. But I can get a rough size later if I measure the width of our recliner Smiley

Prompt: December - Slinky
Team: Fandom
Project Name: Mistletoe
I made this last week but never got around to posting it to the Nerd Battles! I crocheted this from a pattern that I wrote myself. It's crocheted using Red Heart Super Saver in Tea Leaf with rolled up bits of cotton for the berries. The mistletoe stem is able to hold its shape because its worked around a couple lengths of beading wire.

Ooh those slippers look warm, plaidpineapple! And I just love those Hogwarts Alumni pants and that gorgeous stocking!

My latest creation:

I crocheted this up last night using a pattern I wrote up myself. Smiley It's crochet worked around wire with tightly rolled balls of cotton for the berries.
