Oh!  Ok, I do know you Smiley

Sorry, but I really couldn't recognize you from your photo.

Oh, really?  I've been going to the meetings very regularly since the group started, but I don't think we've met.  Or maybe I'm just not recognizing you from your picture.

I meant to post for everyone on the thread though, so whoever else is interested, please come Smiley

If you check out the "Central" board, there are posts about SF Bay Area events in there.  I think the North board is meant for everything north of SF.

Anyway, I'm in a craft group that meets monthly at the Campbell Library, and our September meeting is tonight.  We'll be in the Community Room (downstairs) at 630PM, learning how to make lip balm.

We hold workshops at each meeting, or you can bring your own projects to work on.  We have a mailing list, but you aren't required to sign up in order to attend meetings.

If you're willing to drive up to Campbell, we have a group that meets every month at the library there.  More info here:

We've had a few people come up from Santa Cruz, though I think they were usually up here for work anyway. Smiley

It looks like it's right under that red line, but is supposed to be in "Central."  There used to be a "northern" board (I think) but that would include people up in Humbolt County, Sacramento, and so on, so that's why it was refined.

The South Bay Craft Group will be meeting next Wednesday, September 5th, at 6:30 in the Community Room of the Campbell Library (right near downtown Campbell)

We'll be learning how to make our own lip balm, or you can bring along your own project to work on.

eternal_ukyou LATE---> Mikaiyawa --> sugarblossom

For what it's worth, my package to eternal_ukyou was originally returned to me since she moved.  I resent it though and the Delivery Confirmation shows that it was delivered on the 5th.

Thanks for stepping up! Smiley

My swap items are being mailed first thing tomorrow morning, and they'll be sent via Priority Mail.  (Delivery Confirmation #9101148008600160900541)  I forgot to include a note, but I hope my partner likes what I sent. Smiley

I also received my items from Mikaiyawa last week but forgot to post until now.

Our next group meeting will be on September 6th, 6:30-8:30 pm at the Campbell Library (77 Harrison in Campbell) in the Community Room (downstairs).

This month's demo will be on how to decoupage, particularly wooden boxes. Basic supplies will be provided, but you can also bring your own images to use. Color-copied images or glossy magazine pages are recommended, but others will work; no photos though.

As always, you can bring your latest project to work on. Hope to see you there!

10  California / California: Central / Re: San Jose - Fabric R us on: August 29, 2006 07:44:51 AM
Anyone been here? I am going to San Jose on Wednesday and was thinking of diverting the trip a bit to stop here, but don't want to be wasting time. Does anyone know of any other good fabric or craft stores in San Jose? I know that there is  a Jo-ann's, Michael's and two Hancock's. But I can go to those locally. I would like to find some new places with nice affordable fabrics.

I tried finding this store not long ago, but only found an empty storefront.  Unless they moved somewhere else, they look to be out of business.

You've covered most of the fabric stores, aside from a few quilting stores here and there.  If you can make a trip down to Santa Cruz, there's a great store there called Hart's Fabric that has an amazing selection.  Prices are decent, and they carry home and regular fabrics as well as notions and patterns.
