6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Re: Telling hubby/parents about pregnancy on: June 24, 2006 04:39:59 AM
sweets, that's a nice idea with the scrapbook.  and on father's day!  how sweet.

so, for any of you that have been through this before, at what point did you all tell the family that you were pregnant?  how far along were you?

right now we're living in a different state than both of our families.  my mom will be coming out in september, at the same time when his family will be coming to their vacation home here.  we just started trying, but i'm hoping that we can get pregnant before september, so we can suprise everyone with the news when they're here.  my mom will be flying in, so i thought about showing up at the airport with a sign (like those ones drivers have when they pick people up from the airport) that says "grandma".  but, i'm not pregnant yet, or at least, i don't think so Wink  so i'll have to wait and see.

i've had this thread in my bookmarks for quite some time now...lots of great ideas here!  anyhow, i wanted bump up this up again to see if anyone else had any other ideas because i'm finally at the point when i could use them.  yay!  my husband and i have decided to start trying for a baby, and we'll be the first in both of our families to have children.  i really want to do something special to let everyone know when the time comes.  Smiley

sammyb, that video was incredible...great idea!

i love those!   i adore old photographs...it's so fun to look at them and imagine the story behind them.  i think they would make great magnets.  Smiley
10  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Re: i revamped much of my website, how ya like me now?? :P on: April 25, 2006 04:33:46 AM
sweets4ever  awww, thanks so much!  that's a good point about the sold gallery.  i think i'll stick with my current format for now.

... the two color blocks with text (the green and the blue) are loading the text to the extreme left of the boxes, leaving a lot more color on the right margin and making the block look Left Text Heavy (am I explaining this well?) This could just be a design preference of yours, and I will shush, but it looks a little unbalanced to me, with the text right up against the left edge of the color block and the far right empty space.

The only other comment I have is: You guys sure do have SKINNY NECKS! I would never buy a necklace only 14 inches long, it would be Strangulation City for me! Can you make at least some of them 16-18 inches long? I wear 16 inches OK, but prefer the 18 inch length with most of my clothes.

Otherwise, very easy to navigate and the photos are well lit. Nice job.

thanks for your input.  i tweaked the text boxes on the front page to try get the margins a little more even.  better?  that was actually kind of bugging me too, but i wasn't sure how to fix it...but it ended up being really easy!   Cheesy

i was wondering about the necklace length.  i guess i better start making some longer necklaces.  i can also lenghten most of them if needed, so maybe i should put a note about that somewhere.  duh!   Roll Eyes
