1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / jackson pollock/ the clash inspired skirt on: February 18, 2006 03:05:01 AM
I love the clash and jackson pollock. this is my first circle skirt ever. the hole for my bum is actually an oval so it bunches and falls asymetrically. I really like it

super simple tute:
proceed as per normal with a circle skirt cutting a square of fabric into a circle. now take a measurement from where you want the skirt to sit on you.  cut an elipse or oval (not a circle if you want it to bunch like mine does) with te same diameter as your hips. try it on if it slips on fairl easy but dosn't slip off I don't see the point adding a waist band but if you would like one the bottom of an old stretchy tee is ample. BUT DO NOT ADD IT AT THIS POINT IF YOU WANT TO ADD SPLATS. unless you want the splats on the waist band as well.
the splats are easy I just used slightly watered down fabric paint, spread the skirt flat on my veranda (do this outside) dipped a brush in plenty of paint and started flipping and swishing it around. getting effects you like takes experimentation. ok then you wait for it to dry heat set it with your iron, then finish off all the hems. to get that lovely punky look I just zig zagged around to prevent fraying and left the hems unfinished. you could also just duct tape around the hems like that awesome blazer joe wears in some photos. actually I might track down some duct tape.

cause even rebels need somewhere to organise those chaotic anarchic thoughts.
my friend gave me heaps of pink tartan and this is one of the things I used it for. it's not pretty on the inside but what is?
6  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / punk bands bag swap! (sign up 12/14/05 until 01/01/06 send 1st of march) on: December 13, 2005 05:06:45 PM
alrighty then here's how it goes: you make a bag acording to your partners preference (keep it small though to cut down on shipping) so a little messenger/jordy whatever. it has to be themed on a punk band that your partner likes. so a jordy with a stiff little fingers stencil or a messenger with a ramones patch. then you fill the bag with punk themed goodness. you don't have to stuff it full just a few nice little things will do. the sign up to send is long because it's over the holidays and just when school is starting so things might be difficult (i'm going to be majorly stressed around this period) if anyone has problems with the dates I'm flexible. so anyway the questionaire:

10  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / 2 juice recipes!!! on: October 30, 2005 01:42:21 AM
I've been experimenting recently with juice recipes here are the best two
"green juice"
a stick of celery
3-4 inch peice of cucumber
1 green apple (peeled)
pinch of mint
1 kiwi fruit
1/4 cup o.j
and the best one for mornings
1 carrot
a green apple (peeled)
splash of oj
teaspoon of ginger
mint optional

I don't really juice them it's more of a really fine puree. if I want it for breakfast I make it before hand and freeze it in ice cubes , if I plan on drinking it fresh I add a little ice in to cool it off. mmm soooo tasty!
