11  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: "Tempting" knitalong - Winter Knitty on: December 09, 2004 10:01:08 AM

YAY!!!  I'm sooooooo glad to hear that wool ease is coming out right, b/c I'm planning to use it, too.  as soon as christmas presents are done, that is.   Undecided  how many balls did you get?

it was about 197 yards/ball... so i had to get 3!  but they were only $2.37 each.  is that amazing or what? i am hoping to finish this by saturday and my poor little wrist is just about fed up of 2x2 ribbing.   on a side note, the pattern author Jenna Adorno, has a similar pattern in SnB Nation...she loves ribbing.  has anyone seen her website? http://www.thisgirlknits.com/ SO cute.  cutest girl couple i've ever seen.  soooooo adorable! and talented!!!!!!!!!

i cast on 2 days ago and am about 9 inches up the bodice.  my little fingers are getting QUITE the ribbing workout.   i am so poor, so i went with lion brand Wool-Ease in black.  the guage is RIGHT ON to the cashmerino woo hooo!!  also, it was only $8 total for the yarn.   and it doesn't feel too yucky either.

i am hoping to make it a little longer than the pattern author-- she is five foot tall and weighs 100 pounds.   holy cow.  wish i had that bod.

holy living f*ck... that looks awesome.  i did finish mine (8 weeks ago or so) and let me tell you, it looks WAY crappier when you have no bust to fill it out.

velvet, you ROCK... that looks absolutely great.

i adore them.  my grandma used to make us all slippers every year.  problem was that she would trim them with gold cord that itched your feet like crazy.

also, i've gotta say i love the floor or the rug or whatever it is you're standing on.

where did you find the crochet flower pattern?   i was needing some embellishment for a tea cozy i'm making and the only flowers i could find were the posies from magknits.com

LOL girlfriday... SO glad to hear i'm not the only one in this boat!  i am such a nit-wit (or knit-wit as the case may be) and i cast on an extra 20 stitches when i started b/c it "didn't look big enough" to me.

hahahaha.  joke's on me!!!

one thing about this project though, i 'm so bored with it it's forced me to start 2 other projects that i really like.  lol..

GOOD LUCK girlfriday and all!

OMG!   i was totally thinking about these today when i remembered my "first purse." it was the bottom of a Baby Magic lotion bottle, cut off and then with holes punched in a border around the raw edge, crocheted with a lace trim and handles.

anyone ever heard of such a thing?

i was trying to think of a way to make that idea new again....

having a plastic purse with crochet or knitted edging would be cute.

ugh. i'll practically PAY someone to finish my BBBB... i am so bored i could scream!  How do you get through a project that you are 80% FED UP with?>Huh??  i was wishing i could block it so that i get about 13 more inches from it.   lol.
18  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Cleo Halter top at Knitty on: July 28, 2004 01:25:28 AM
well i am happy to say that i too am starting the Cleo from knitty... and my oh my am i LOVING the yarn i chose.  i went with Elite Imagine in Pewter and it is so beautiful i can't stop rubbing it against my cheek.  am i a freak or what???

anyway, the pattern calls for 100% cotton, but i picked a DK (same as pattern calls for) in the MOST GORGEOUS COLOR (did i already say that??)  but it's about 50/50 cotton and rayon... hmph.

when it's time for me to sew this together, will i be able to block it?Huh??   i am wondering if water is going to wreak havoc on my top since it says "DRY CLEAN ONLY."

i will gladly gladly gladly post pictures when i am finished.   i am in love! (or maybe it's just that i'm super-hopped up on Midol.)  it's been a ROUGH few days...

p.s. Velvetcrawdad... did you finish yours?

Hi dandi and the kc crafters...

our Yoga-Knitting group is still together, but for now it's just knitting.  ??  crazy.  anyway, i just wanted to tell you all about an awesome yarn shop in old downtown overland park.  wow.  don't know the name, but it's across the street from The Other Place and McCloud's photography. i think that's 80th and Metcalf.   just beautiful stuff...

I"ll post here next time we have a stitch n bitch. we're thinking of possibly doing it there, or at Toto's Coffeehouse, which is near Johnson Drive and Metcalf.
