1  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Re: MF, Storage closet! D: on: February 21, 2006 08:39:00 PM
I'm not sure how cozy you like it when you sleep, but if you line the walls with a few pillows/extra blankets just sitting on top of your bed it won't feel so much like you are between 2 walls...just like you are snuggled up.
I love the idea of having a bed surrounded by pillows! Suddenly I am wanting a storage closet to sleep in! Hahaha!

Hm, what a cozy little nook you have there. The best ways to cheer it up would be lighting and wall color. If you aren't allowed to paint (or don't want to since you will move soon anyway) you could use the flour and water technique to "wallpaper" with anything- fabric, newspaper, craft paper, tinfoil, etc. The great part about pasting with flour is that it will all come down with soap and water.
If it were me, I would line that skinny wall with shelves, for a reading lamp, books, picture frames, and what not. I might even put high up storage above the door. But I am sure you wouldn't want to drill holes in the wall. Is there such thing as a suspension shelf?

edit: I also meant to ask, is there an outlet in there?
also, you could just cover up the gross tiles with a little straw mat or something. or a bath mat. or a welcome mat. ok, i am just being dumb.

Here is my december card (the replacement), which I can absolutly relate to. My family isn't religious, but they are always giving me unwanted advice on everything else- it gets old fast.

Here is mine for November- I apologize to the sender for not posting it until now. To be honest, I think part of it was stress (you know, that time of the year... blech) but part of it was an inability to address the secret.

It really, REALLY hits home with me. I spent 2 or 3 afternoons a week, every week in High School as a peer counselor, and a lot of (if not most of) the girls I talked to were dealing with major body issues. I always felt like such a hypocrite, since I was dealing with the exact same issues- only they at least had the courage to come forth and ask for advice. I've never had an eating disorder, but I do have major body hate issues... so to the sender, just know you definately aren't alone, and I am sending major love your way.

Thanks everyone!

As for the doors, I just bought tissue paper from a craftstore and cut it to size, then used a watered down craft glue to paint it on. If you do try it, I suggest water soluble for easy removal later on. Also, when you are gluing ong the tissure paper, don't get it too sopping wet. Not only will it cause it to rip (which is actually pretty easy to cover up, by just moving the paper around or adding more) but also because the dye from the tissure paper can start to run and stain your door. But it was pretty fun, cheap and easy- I am all about the instantly gratifying projects!

Yay, I recieved from tofutti break! Everything is beyond amazing, I am so pleased!

first, this AWESOME crewel shadowbox!

Isn't it insanely cute? I can't wait to hang it up in my hallway to be admired!

Second, a really cute little octopus pincuchion

Sorry I couln't get a closer pictutre, but the stitching is perfect! I love his little face- too cute!

And last, but most certanly not least, the most awesome hat I have ever seen!

Ok, i look a bit idiotic in this picture. But isn't this hat amazing! The colors, the fit, and that adorable squid! It honestly could not be any more perfect! I wore it to the bookstore last night, and every once and a while I would remember that I was wearing a squid on my head, and it made me insanely happy!

Here is a close up of the cute little guy:

Toffutibreak, everything was so amazing! You rule!

What an awesome idea! I was thinking of making vanilla scented cupcake sachets as gifts, and these would look really cute paired with them in a little bakery box.
