1  first attempt at yarn dyed with kool-aid [a bit image heavy] in Dyeing: Completed Projects by xoxcitylovexox on: March 24, 2006 05:00:45 PM
alright, so i HAD to try this out, we had done it in my fiber arts class earlier this year, except with plain wool (for needle felthion) not yarn... the pictures arent all that great, but it came out a light pink, and i like it very much

what do you think??

also, a quick question... i have alreayd rinsed the yarn a couple times, but it still smells strongly of vinegar, is there anyway of getting it out? i also sprayed it with some green apple lysol and that seemed to work a bit

[more info on my blog]

3  oregon tote bag in Knitting: Completed Projects by xoxcitylovexox on: March 10, 2006 09:34:29 PM
this is a pattern i got from my fiber arts teacher... its my first actual non flat knitted item! i ended up changing the way the straps are.. they were supposed to be two rope things tied onto the bag and i didnt like it, so i sort of made it up as i went along and did what i liked... i think it came out nice

its supposed to be felted but i like it the way it is .... what do you think?

thanks for looking and Happy Knitting!

5  Re: Harry Potter Scarf Knit-Along? in Knitalongs by xoxcitylovexox on: October 08, 2005 05:56:55 PM
I didn't do the knit-a-long but I did the atypically Knitt Gryffindor scarf last spring for a friend who works at Barnes and Noble and was working the HP book launch. Smiley

I did 15 stripes instead of 19 because it was just getting too long...and who wants to knit a scarf the first week in July? (spring turned into summer...jeez was it boring to do!)

Here it is:

im using the same pattern, i think i might do the same and not do all 19 stripes..its already at my waist when i put it around my neck

6  first go at earing making!!! [sort of picture heavy] in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by xoxcitylovexox on: September 23, 2005 07:11:03 PM
ok, well last night i went to a beaded earing class at my local library, and i must say i have a new found love...it was $10 a person [$5 per pair], both me and my mom went, i ended up loving it so much i made an extra pair, plus i made hers because she forgot her glasses and it was giving her a headache...so without further adu....pictures!!!

<-- these ones are really cool, theyre like clear beads with flowers on them....sorry the picture is blurry, i think i sneezed or something

<--- i love these, my mom loved em so much she had me make her a pair like them too

<-- these are the heart pair i made my mom...the green beads are a little different

<-- i love these ones...theyre brown and gold, and to me they just sream hippy/boho chic!

<-- these are the second pair i made for my mom...theyre black, gray, and pink...and the beads in the middle have like black and pink swirls or flowers in them, i forget which one lol

what does everybody think??

{by the way...sorry if the pictures are not that great, i dont have a digital camera yet, so i used my phone}
