11  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Small Perler-project on: May 31, 2011 12:59:32 AM
Did you know "perler" is from the swedish "pärlor" and simply means "beads"? Grin

It was this swedish macho-guy who invented them. He was sitting in his timberlog and was bored. Some-one suggested him to start knitting & sew xstiches, but he thought it was way to sissy. So he put a lot of nails on a piece of wood and decoraded it with beads beause "it was more male" <3

Well, here is what I made myself:
A pair of dangly mismathing earrings and a barret.

handmade hooks in black

work in progress

I was inspired of my new socks in the beginning. I realised that  I had nothing to go with it, so I made some accesoaries. ^^

I know how addictive it is to make that kind of stuff Grin OK, so I like the black and white effect, but how do you wear these? All in your hair?

Im very found of how that turned out aswell. I have decided will use that as a pattern for an edging on a shrug. It would be neat i think.

Yea, in my hair. In simple hairdos like those:

I use the skully a lot! It is made out of a spiralcrochet roundin desired size and then a row wich cover a 1/4 of the round. Then i just turned it and crochet i back for another row or two. ..and voila, there was a skullshape. very quick and easy.

I really like the earrings too. ^^ I hava an fablesse for beads made out of yarn ^^
