21  Re: Knifty Knitter? in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by motleycruiser on: April 06, 2008 10:00:15 PM
I wanted to show off another of my scrap yarn hats. I'm obsessed with these. I just finished a green one & a brown one. The brim is just single crochet. two stitches in each knit stitch

Two new hats. The body is crochet with a knit brim.

Wool angora acrylic. I have had this yarn for forever it's very pretty but when I work it up it always looks weird. This is the first time I've made something in it I like

I made a new hat. I LOVE this yarn. It was a total pain to take apart because it didnt have a seam like most, it looked more like someone had hand stitched it so I had to pick every stitch. It was also very rolley polley so I had a lot of fuzz to pick off. To bad I don't know how to spin I would have enough fuzz from my last couple sweaters for some interesting yarn. This is an acrylic if I remember it is uber soft & was a dream to crochet with after all the fighting. I really want to keep it for myself.

nothing too exciting, maybe one day I can finish a sweater without getting crafting ADD
This yarn was HORRIBLE to recycle. I originally got the sweater to recycle for my swap partner but it took so long & hurt my hands so much that I havent frogged more than a sleeve & went & got her something else

This is a wool acrylic blend sooooo yummy & soft. The band is 100% wool. The button is recycled too

I just made this little bag to carry lunch in. It wraps around a tuperware style storage container.

I've been really addicted to using up these little scraps, I love how it comes out.

reverse side

the body of the hat was done on a knifty knitter & has been sitting at my desk for a while & I was sitting there today thinking hmmm I wonder what it would look like with a real brim

I got my package today WOO HOO! After my jerk of a post man made it sound like he was bringing down the house putting it between the doors. We are night people but I had to get up early because I was pretty sure that was the only package coming this week. I took all my goodies into the bedroom & opened them to some grumpy bear grumbling.....pfft swaps are like christmas you can't wait. After opening everything I was like wow I don't feel like I sent enough, and I got a "that's a new one" grumble muffled by the comforter. SO's totally don't get it. Anyways the awsomeness sent by woobie.

Nobody has sent me individually wrapped packages, I love it. It's so fun to unwrap. And I will be using that tissue paper for a future project who can refuse teal/brown paisley butterflys

A pillow & pouch. I'm going to use the pouch as an eyeglass case. You can't really tell but the owl on the pillow is embroidered.

Back of the pillow, a hand carved stamp & a cute little felt pin.

A needle roll w/needles and a cute little pair of earrings:

The cutest little backpack. No its not smushy like that I just wanted you to see the bottom:

A ball of yarn that was in the bag, the cutest charm bracelet, the outside of the needle roll & the cute card that came with everything:

This has been the best swap EVER for me thank you sooooooo much!! I'm not one of those people that gets uber excited about anything but this made me wanna jump up & down all giddy.

I'll post better pics of the jewelry if I can get the grumpy bear to take them after work tonight
