1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Cropped jacket/blazer [email protected] on: January 13, 2007 12:14:36 PM
Has anyone seen a knitting pattern for a jacket with a similar shape to this?

I want one really bad but I haven't found one in a store that is small enough for me! And so, I'm hoping knitting will save the day but I haven't seen a pattern anywhere for something with this shape. Help!?
2  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / Short 'n sweet question on: June 10, 2006 10:43:24 AM
This seems like it should be incredibly obvious, but for the life of me I cannot figure it out!

I've finished the back and fastened off and am now ready to start the right front. The instructions say, "Now working on opposite side of the foundation chain," but isn't the opposite side... the side that should be the neckline? Am I crocheting down the *side* of the back? Or have I completely missed an important step?

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Knitting in the round (socks, etc.) on: February 25, 2006 08:08:22 PM
I'm trying to jump out of my crochet addiction by replacing it with knitting, and having so much trouble! I can knit/purl just fine, but anything beyond that is becoming increasingly confusing.

So, my first question is how do I join my stitches so I can knit in the round? I have reread all three of my "Learn how to knit" books and can't find anything on knitting in the round. I've started just... knitting them together and not really joining them at all, but is this right?

Does anyone want to take pity on me or direct me to a good website? Please?

5  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Mafia man and Mafia lady costumes? on: October 16, 2005 04:23:46 PM
Hey guys,

Has anyone dressed up like a mafia couple before?

I've been looking for patterns for a dress suitable for the 1920s, but am having trouble figuring out what would be appropriate. Any ideas? Also, any accessories/details that you can think of that would make this costume work?

6  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Hooker parties?!? on: October 16, 2005 03:52:42 PM
Hey everyone,

I'm writing a magazine article about the new generation of "crochet-er". The focus is going to be on "stitch n' bitch"-type crochet parties. But before I can write it, I need people to intervew! So, if you participate in any kind of hooker party and want to answer some questions PM me.

Thanks guys!

7  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Miniature flowery granny squares? on: September 26, 2005 01:54:18 PM
I've looked for a [free] pattern to make these flowers:

and I can't find anything similar, even in a larger size. Does anyone know how to make these or where I could find a pattern?
8  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Pattern for a shrug on: August 02, 2005 02:21:56 PM
hey guys,

I've been looking all over for a good shrug pattern. I spent the weekend going through book after book at Chapters, and only found one (that I didn't like). Do you have any ideas about where to find a cute one, or do you have a pattern you would be willing to share?

Thanks :c)
