1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / A very vegas Christmas (complete w/ photos) on: December 09, 2006 05:15:41 PM
Who doesn't like sequins?  Not me!

I made some sparkly ornaments and I can't decide if I should just keep them for myself or make them for family and friends.  Do you think they could have a wide appeal or are they too cheesy?

2  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Baby's first tattoo with stars on: July 23, 2006 04:29:50 PM

Here is the baby sweater I made for my new baby cousin.  (Due in January so he/she will need lot of cozy warm clothing!)  It's my first attempt at a sweater of any kind, so it's a it rough around the edges but a good learning experience.  I hope it gets lots of wear.
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / how exactly do you knit a blanket on: July 20, 2006 08:55:59 PM
I've been thinking about knitting a blanket lately.  My only question is, how do you knit a blanket?  The needles seem like they would be too short and even if you could squeeze the whole blanket on the needles, they would bend or break under all the weight.

Are you supposed to knit on circular needles or knit in pieces and seam them together?  I am interested in trying a lace blanket and perhaps a cable adult size blanket.

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Knitted Digital Camera Case on: September 26, 2005 10:32:18 AM
It's my birthday today!  I got a digitial camera, woohooo!

At the store, the only camera cases that they had were very ugly, plain black monstrosities.  They were uninspiring, so I decided not to get one, and instead to make one.  My idea is that I will knit my camera a cozy case and line it with a plain, colorful cotton fabric, so fuzz from the yarn does not get the lens dusty.

I have two ideas about how to do this and would like input.  Keep in mind that I am not a very advanced knitter, I can make a lovely scarf, change colors, knit, purl, and I can make the tube portion of a sock.

1) Knit a big square.  Fold three corners into the center and stich them together.  The final corner would flap open and could be attached with a fancy button.

2) Knit a tube (like a sock).  Stich together the bottom or suck it up and figure out how to finish it properly.

Any other suggestions?  Which one seems like it would work better?  Thanks!  I'll post pictures when I am finished.
5  Ohio / Ohio: Southwest / Cincinnati - Sunday Markets on Main on: August 03, 2005 01:43:30 PM
I just moved to Cinci this week, so I am frantically searching the internet to try and meet friends who share my interests.

In any case, have you ladies (and gentlemen?) checked out Sunday Markets on Main?  I live on Main Street and am looking forward to Sundays!  Apparently you can rent sidewalk space for like 10 or 15 dollars to sell your crafts, music, anything.  It is hyped up to get people to come downtown and explore, and I think funky crafts would fit right in.  This website: www.irhine.com has more info.

I will be down there this weekend (probably every weekend) browsing around, so if anybody else will be there, let me know.  (Seriously, I'm lonely, and I need some friends)
