1  Easy to make creepy spider egg sack prop for Halloween in Halloween Decor and Parties by beadsbycelleste on: October 22, 2013 09:27:12 AM
I liked the idea of having a bunch of spider related props/decorations for my Halloween parties each year, but didn't like how boring the ones I saw all over were. You know the kind, where it's just the white stocking filled with polyfil with webbing on the outside or something. I decided to make creepy versions:

I have the tutorial on my blog that shows how easy they are to make and maybe gives you guys an idea of how to play around with the idea? Hope you guys like!!

Hi all!! I've been crafting for about 13 years now, but only just found this forum and decided to join!! I love the idea of a newbies board to be able to give a little idea of what we can contribute! These are some of the things I've worked on within the last year or so...

I'm trying to better my sewing skills...

I play with perlers...

I recently made an origami paper flower bouquet...

I play with polymer clay on occasion..

I've gotten a little into needle felting...

I've mostly done jewelry making though since I was 12 and my grandma taught me, some recent pieces are...

Basically, if it's crafty, I've tried it or want to!! I also have done some loom knitting, candle making, scrapbooking, painting, ATCs, and have eyed some other crafts... particularly miniatures intrigue me...

I can't wait to share the other projects I come up with and become more a part of this awesome community!!

3  First inchies, pretty basic in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by beadsbycelleste on: August 17, 2013 11:50:56 PM
I hadn't ever heard of inchies before this last week when I registered for Craftster and started looking around on the different sections. I saw so many different kinds of them, I figured I'd give it a shoot for b myself.

Here's a close-up to show the details:

Picture to show what I've attached them to, a piece of cardstock from a paper pack that really only has the left border. I figured that was kind of perfect for the inches I had and putting them all together:

I think I'll play around with these a little more, make some more, but especially want to brainstorm on a good way to make and use inchies to display the quote "I am a leaf on the wind, watch how I soar." for my bff.

What do you guys think for a first attempt??

4  Origami flower bunch in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by beadsbycelleste on: August 17, 2013 11:24:22 PM
A friend of mine taught me how to fold some kind of origami flower when I was helping her with making her wedding decorations and it got me interested to try for myself:

I glued the flower pieces to silver foil-like pipe cleaners, folded over in half to be a little sturdier.

But then I decided not only to make some more, out of scrapbooking paper (I used pages from an old copy of Jane Eyre for the first two)... I decided I'd make a full bouquet for many boss! I'm giving it to her Monday and can't wait to see if she likes it!!

I used Elmer's glue to put the pieces together but then hot glue to put the pieces on the painted dowel rods.

There's a pretty good tutorial for making these here:

I will say that by the last (8th) flower my hands were rally stating to hurt but not so bad I had trouble finishing them all and they took about 3-ish hours as I kept getting distracted.
