1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / French Knot Color Wheel Necklace on: October 22, 2015 06:58:59 PM

A while back I made a 3" hoop with a french knot color wheel. I made a smaller version to fit inside a Dandelyne necklace. I love how it turned out.

Yes, your stitches are very precise and even, which is what I love about sashiko!

What a unique idea to do it rainbow!  I think it would be lovely as a pouch or one side of a tote.

I found it so nice to not have to worry about my stitches, just being able to use the lines and go with it. It was so relaxing.

A tote would be cute!

Sashiko! Great work. Your stitches are so even and the color effect is really neat.

I can't take complete credit, the sashiko sampler had the lines printed on so I didn't have to do the work myself.  Cheesy
4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Triangle Pouches! on: August 28, 2015 05:39:02 PM
Very cute! I once made a set of these, nesting inside one another in three sizes for my sister who was travelling a lot. She loved them. The smallest bag she used for her jewelry, the largest one for bras, and the middle size for pantyhose. They helped keep her luggage and motel room sorted. And you are right. It is a very neat pattern, and really not that hard of geometry to figure out. Great job!

oh what a neat idea! I don't think my math skills are sharp enough to figure out nesting ones!  Cheesy
5  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Paper Pieced Bee Hexagon Pouch on: August 28, 2015 05:38:13 PM
It's lovely.  And what a nice idea of how to use a small piece.  I always want to try patterns, but don't want to commit to a whole quilt.

I'm the exact same way. I love so many paper pieced patterns but wouldn't make a whole quilt, so I like making little mug rugs and pouches with them.  Smiley

Ooh, I love this! Bees are the best. Your fabric choices are lovely! I really like the background floral.

Thanks! It's from the line Briar Rose by Heather Ross.

That bee is gorgeous.  Was it very difficult to put together? I'm not much in to patchwork but I'd love to try something like that.

If you've never done foundation paper piecing I would probably start with a bigger project just to get the feel of it. It's not hard but the pieces are smaller and there's quite a few of them. This was the third paper pieced pattern I did.

I love paper piecing because it requires so much less precision than patchwork.
8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Rainbow Sashiko! on: August 27, 2015 08:23:44 PM

I had this sashiko kit for months before I finally tried it out. I couldn't resist making it rainbow-y.

I LOVED sashiko, I found it so soothing. I have another kit to do now! I can't decide what I should do with this one though, I might make it into a pouch.

This is fantastic! The glow in the dark eyes are amazing!

I love it! Blackwork is so much fun, I love the way it looks and the possibilities! And I made my first biscornu recently and now I want to make dozens!
