1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Just found a GREAT website that I'd like to pass along on: August 05, 2007 12:01:54 PM
I was browsing the web today when I stumbled across this website:

All of the clothes are reconstructed and have got me wanting to go buy out the nearest goodwill and make just about everything on her site.  Alot of the stuff is fairly reasonably priced too... no reason not to buy it.  Thought you guys might like the inspiration too.  Wink

Happy crafting!
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / crochet corset? on: April 21, 2007 06:25:32 PM
I know they exist, but i've not been able to find one yet.  Does anybody know a free corset pattern, or a fitted corset-esque top.  preferably somthing pretty lacy.  Thanks!
3  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / UGLY Curtains on: April 15, 2007 10:05:40 AM
I live in a dorm with really ugly curtains that I can't take down.  Any suggestions for modifying/coverng them so that they won't be so gross? They are solid navy blue and they are on a track over the window.
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / lingerie/sleep set on: April 14, 2007 01:40:07 PM
so, i'm working on some fairly modest lingerie.  right now i'm making it up as i go from a modified bikini pattern and a bunch of yoyo's. It's going ok so fair, but i was wondering if
a) any body new of any patterns for something like this
b)if anybody nows a type of stitch that would look like a ton of cirlcles without having to make a bunch of yoyos and attaching them all together.  i swear it's giving me carple tunnel
Thanks  Grin
5  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / swimsuits on: April 04, 2007 03:09:13 PM
I've been browsing for awhile, and i've had a hard time finding a suit pattern that I really like.  Does anybody know of any? I'm not too afraid of anything skimpy, I'm just trying to find something I like before I invest the time in making it.

Also, does anybody know where to get good yarn for this? I already have lining material (i found it on accident in the remnants bin when i was looking for something totally different) but I'm having a hard time finding a good stretch cotton.
6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / super easy, cheap and practical newsprint wallet [img heavyish] on: March 29, 2007 04:15:28 PM
I made this wallet out of a piece of newsprint glued to a piece of construction paper for added stability.  I can definitely add a tut if any body is interested.  just say the word!

It took me about 5 minutes to make and cost me a grand total of zero dollars.. which is good because i'm a broke college student.  Hope you like it!
7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / boyfriend's birthday on: March 08, 2007 12:25:36 PM
Any ideas for a sexy evening of celebration for my boyfriends birthday? We'll more than likely be in the dorm... so candles and cooking are out.  Any ideas for food and activities/entertainment are greatly appreciated!

We've been dating for 4 years and are very adventurous and open to anything as far as our relationship is concerned.  We're doing the long distance thing, but I'll be on break by his birthday so we'll actually to spend the evening together.  Thanks in advance!

Edit: He told me that the most exciting present I can get him is a threesome... don't really know if crafster is going to help me with that one  Wink
8  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / Finally finished my Jolly Roger!! on: January 15, 2007 10:48:27 PM
I've been working on this forever! It was supposed to be and xmas present for my bf, but I foolishly trusted him to measure himself and it ended up being entirely too small.  Several alerations later and it's finally ready to be shown off and for him to take it off my hands.  Here it is:

Close up of the ribbing I added to the bottom to lengthen the sleeves to mend the boy's botched measurements.

Thanks for looking! I'm so glad it's finally finished!
9  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Discussion and Questions / future betta fish owner with a couple of questions on: January 13, 2007 01:07:13 PM
So, I think I'm going to get a betta fish either this weekend or the next, but i don't want just a round bowl with a couple of rocks and a fish.  I have a couple ideas, but i would love some input.

Do you think a decorative vase or something along those lines would be ok?  Here's a picture of one that I currently have in my dorm room:

Maybe with some colored glass stones in the bottom? I'm not a big fan of the pebbles, and they make a big dusty mess.

I've never had fish before, but I know bettas are pretty hardy and can live in pretty small spaces, but that's about the extent of my knowledge.

Also, I don't know if this will get me in trouble, but do I need a heater, or something to add air to the water in the tank for a betta??

Thanks so much!!!
10  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / my first sweater on: December 02, 2006 02:51:04 PM
Made with no pattern and a little inspiration from Victoria's Secret

I'll get better pics on my parent's real digital camera (these are from my webcam) when I go home for break.
