1  Office Chair upholstored with bedskirt in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by bloodymary on: December 13, 2005 07:08:00 PM
I got this strange bedspread or tablecloth from a garage sale.
I used it as a bedskirt, but my dog used to get stuck in the fancy trim and ripped it to shreds.

I used the remaining fabric to reupholster an ordinary office chair (and I used the scraps for curtains.)

2  Egg Tempera Painting in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by bloodymary on: October 18, 2005 07:19:37 AM
The Archangel Gabriel.

This is an Egg Tempera Icon. My first. It's not like anything I normally do. (Wait for future posts!)

It's one of the three things I'm most proud of.

3  My Easter Island Head Clock Rocks! in Completed Projects by bloodymary on: October 18, 2005 06:41:17 AM
This is my Easter Island Head Clock I made for my Tiki Bathroom.
It's carved out of styrofoam, about 15" tall.
Here's a tip: styrofoam blocks are kinda expensive so I bought a big sheet and glued layers together.
The clock I got at CVS. I'm surprised it still works after nearly 2 years.

It looks just like rock in real life.

4  Re: Sci-fi, fantasy party in Party Planning by bloodymary on: October 18, 2005 03:56:36 AM
Last year my roommate and I had a space birthday party. I was influenced by sci-fi pulp novels and B-movies.
This was the invitation - it was supposed to look like a magazine.

I worked at Kinko's so most of the decorations were based on prints. I will look for pictures and post later.

5  Glass Gun in Glass Crafts: Completed Projects by bloodymary on: October 17, 2005 11:56:18 PM

This is a gun I cast out of glass. The mold is made out of sand, that's why it looks dirty. Casting with glass is similar to casting with any other material, only MUCH, MUCH hotter.
When it was done, I had to cut off the overflow (bandsaw). I was warned that it couldn't be done.
