These are so pretty!!!
12  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Aquarium Bead Magnets on: July 29, 2012 09:06:37 PM
These are kind of a paper craft and a glass craft.  I use clear aquarium beads, and print out little pictures off the computer for them with photo paper, and then glue a really strong (neodymium) magnet on the backs of them.  The magnets are so strong that I have to use epoxy to hold them together or the picture rips right off when you take it off of the fridge.  Glad I figured that one out before shipping any.

I just got new brushes for photoshop last night and designed some new ones for beads that are a little bigger than a quarter. I'll have to post pictures of those too once I have them finished. The glue is drying right now  Smiley

Absolutely beautiful. It looks like it took a really long time to make.
15  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Re: Hand Painted Acrylic Nails - Fade Designs on: July 28, 2012 05:23:35 PM
Actually, I think this might be oK because it is posted in the "Get Product & Website Opinions" board, & from what I've seen, it's not a problem to post links back to a shop since she's asking for feedback to a particular product. Might want to open a help desk ticket or otherwise contact a Mod to find out for sure about the specific rules for the business portion of the board. Smiley

In the future, though, you will probably get more responses specific to the product if you post in another board aimed at the product, not the business end of things, like Bath & Beauty. Also, don't include shop or listing links, instead upload a few more pictures.

Probably not the kind of helpful you were looking for, but I hope this was helpful enough. Smiley

I originally posted it in bath and beauty and a mod moved it. I would have just taken the links out if I had been asked to before it got moved. I took them out anyway though.

Feather earrings I make.  The black and white pair are real woodpecker feathers.

BeaG -
I try to keep my prices down as much as I can while still having room for profit.  I recycle a lot of materials, and buy a lot of others in bulk so I can keep my prices down.  I think a lot of things now-a-days are over-priced (not just online) so I try to be as fair as possible when I price things.

Maybe I'm just optimistic, but losing money on that first sale really isn't a big deal to me because while I might not have made anything, it wasn't a total loss. After fees the sale was for $17 and some change. $8 of that went to shipping because the girl lives in Canada, which was the worst part of it, but hey, at least I know what to charge for shipping to Canada now.  Another $7 went towards my etsy bill, which isn't too bad. That's $7 dollars I didn't have to pay out of my regular cash flow.  When I really lost money was when the post office decided to abuse the crap out of the package I sent. It was a postal, flat rate box, so it was a fairly sturdy cardboard box, stuffed to the brim with news paper for cushioning, and when she got it she sent me a message complete with pics showing how it arrived.  I don't know what they did to it, but one of the corners of the box was completely caved in and there was a crack all the way down the side of one of the bowls.  Having to ship another package for that sale is where I lost money really.

Thanks  Grin

I shoot with a Canon Eos, and edit my pics with photoshop. I just got the new version, CS6, and it frickin' rocks.

I browsed the forum a bit before posting, and it just seemed pretty lenient about it, but I guess it was just the section I was looking at. Oops  Tongue
