1  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / SNBN Head Huggers --- HELP! on: January 17, 2005 03:26:21 PM
I'm taking the leaf and flower and putting it onto another project.
On the small leaf, I got all the way to row 13 and had to stop abruptly.
I understand Sl1 and pl. The PSSO I just don't understand!!!

I looked in both my books and they had the skp, byt there isn't a purl in that.
What am I supposed to pass over?

So, if anyone could go quite litterally step by step, take pictures or whatever on the sl1 p1 psso, I'd be so extremely grateful.

Thanks so much!
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / I was at hobby lobby a couple weeks ago on: April 05, 2004 07:32:09 AM
I was hanging out with my buddy and her babies. I told her to pick out some yarns so I could make things for the three of them. At the end of the aisles there are pamplets with free patterns. So I was peeling lots of patterns. Then I hit the jackpot. A whole applebasket FULL of pamplets. I was there for I don't know how long and I picked up a stack about as big as one of those pamplets!

Always on the lookout for free patterns in stores! WOO!!
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / I want to make a bun cover on: March 04, 2004 07:58:57 AM
Not necessarily huge or anything. I have an old bun cover that an aunt made for me when I was in ballet way back when.  I'm in ballet again and I'm learning to knit, and I wanted to make a new bun cover. Crochet will be good too, I kind of know how to crochet and I'm sure I'll take that up again too.

Does anyone have any patterns/instructions for a crochet or knit bun cover? Or does anyone know where I could find one online or in a book or something?

4  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Discussion and Questions / Scrapbook thing on: January 31, 2004 02:31:36 PM
I have no pictures - sorry....
However, I'll tell you what I did.
My brother graduated in 1997 from high school. As his graduation present, I made a scrapbook for him.
I took a regualr binder, some magnetic (removeable) photo pages, some clear plastic page holders and blank paper.

I took fun and serious pictures that were mainly of my brother and placed them throughout the photocling pages. I also cut out magazine pictures and articles and fun phrazes and arranged them together. I got a lot of fun sex pics (like condoms and booze and stuff). One page had a picture of him picking his nose (I know, how gross is that right?! It was an opportunity and I took the picture myself) and I had a phrase that said "Why women love you" or something like that. Another one is where my mom got a pic of him while he was changing clothes - kind of covering himself up and I had a clipping that said "in the raw." Just fun stuff like that. His graduation invitation, some graduation pictures of his friends

Page holders held important school documents, his college acceptance letter that he didn't know about, and other fun school stuff.

The blank pages were used for people to sign in on leaving him comments and advice. Teachers, friends, family, etc.

We didn't buy yearbooks when we graduated - so this basically served as his own "Eric" yearbook. After his graduation, I added to it with pictures we took from the event and some graduation party souvineres.

I gave it to him on the night of his graduation and he loved it so much. It made my big football playing tough brother cry. It was great that I had touched him so much with something so simple. It took a while to get it all together, but it was basically a free gift that has a world of sentimental value.

It's something I would have wanted done for me. I know I'll do that for my kids (when I have them and when they have important events.

I encourage everyone to do something similar for someone special. It's a great gift!
5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Cannot remember who posted it... on: January 30, 2004 05:50:14 PM
But someone had the idea of scanning magazine articles and saving them onto cd's.

I thought this was just a brilliant idea!
So I've started scanning!

Thanks for the idea and kudos to you!

7  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / I don't know how crafty this is... on: January 28, 2004 06:51:44 AM
But I thought I would ask here anyway.

I am making several zines. I'm from the US and I know there are people here from all over... I'd really love to have a zine full of entries from people from all over the world.

Wanna submit something?
I have several zines I want to make so take your pick:

Eclectic 2 - anything goes
Beanut Butter - stories
Untitled - a craft zine
Untitled - journal entries

If you submit, you'll get a free copy.

I also do zine trades - Only zine I have to offer is Eclectic 1. I will definitely be willing to make an even trade.
8  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Jar Lids on: January 25, 2004 07:00:18 PM
I cleaned out my fridge and I've got a lot of salsa and cheese dip jars. Ugly lids.

What would you suggest to make them pretty?

I'm planning on using two for like q-tips and cotton balls, what else could I use those jars for?

Thanks a mill.
