1  FIBER ARTS / Weaving: Discussion and Questions / Newbie Heddle Q on: September 10, 2008 08:22:31 AM
I just got a used Rigid Heddle Loom that looks like it probably wasn't that expensive to start with.  The instructions are pretty hokey and don't say anything about the yarn that the heddle is meant for.  So my question is: how can I find out what kind of yarn to use for the warp?  Is there a formula I can use with the measurements of the heddle?

The holes are pretty small, so I assume that the yarn would need to be quite small, but I'm not sure HOW small I need to go!
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Care to share your inspirations? on: September 20, 2005 10:16:32 AM
I saw this site today and wanted to share with my happy hooker friends!

If anyone has patterns like any of these, I'd love to see them!!

Anybody else have inspirations to share?

3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Using multiple strands... is this hard for a newbie? on: August 19, 2005 02:12:48 PM
Hey, I'm new to crochet, but I'm in love.  I've made a potholder, dishcloth, tote bag and most of a star afghan so far, nothing fancy.

I'm noticing that lots of the patterns I'm itching to make call for 2 or 3 strands of yarn and a big hook.  I've been a little nervous to start a project like this, but perhaps its not as difficult as I think?  Any advice?

4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Orange (and pink) Beaded Bracelet... my first! on: May 23, 2005 10:21:12 AM
Ok, I was inspired enough by you craftster-types to venture into a bead store and not turn right around again!  Everything is so beautiful and its so hard to find a starting point!!  I limited myself to a small area and made myself a bracelet from what I found there.

I can see how this would be addicting!!!!

Here it is, my first ever picture post on Crafter and my first ever beaded anything:
