1  Re: 2008 AUSSIE christmas card & small gift swap in The Swap Gallery by starberrii on: December 25, 2008 05:19:34 PM
Here are photos from the other lovely swap parcels I received. Sorry about the poor quality, I think I was over enthusiastic when resizing them.

This one is from cyndiq, as well as the gorgeous journal that I requested, she also sent me some sweets and a lovely Christmassy scrunchie. The journal will really come in handy when I go overseas next year. The card she sent me is lovely and all textured.

This is the card from missmelissa, with a cute little train on the front. Does anyone else think it's lots of fun making train noises, or is that just me?

Inside were these TWO lovely pendants. I've already worn the one on the right, they're just fantastic!

Thanks so much to all my swap partners, I've loved everything I've received!

I'm really enjoying seeing the great things everyone has got so far. This is a really fantastic swap!

This is what I've been lucky enough to get so far:

From Ralph, a gorgeous resin pendant and necklace. The pendant has two sides but I couldn't get a good photo of the other side so you'll just have to take my word for it! I also got a lovely card and an origami ornament/book, and they all go together so nicely!

From Taniquel, a beautiful pyramid bag. The fabrics are so nice and there is the cutest bird sillhouette button on the top. The card has a lovely beaded Christmas bauble on it that I'm going to try and take off and use as an ornament later.

From Jehnaier, some amazing artwork. I can't believe how talented she is. I'm going to frame them eventually...although currently they're sitting on a cross stitch that's been waiting several years to be framed!

Thanks everyone, I'm thrilled with everything I've got so far!

Edited to add correct photo. Oops!

This is what I'm currently offering for this swap.

Embroidered bookmarks (pick one of these or I can custom make one)

Amigurumi turtles (pick one of these colours or I can make another colour or another small amigurumi animal). Probably not safe for very small children.

Crayon roll. I'd be making new ones so if you give colour preferences I can see what I've got in my stash. I could also make it slightly bigger and a crochet hook roll or pencil roll.

Small crocheted item. Here are a couple of hat examples, but other things you might like could be a phone or ipod cozy, small scrubbie/tawashi or dishcloth, crocheted headband or square if you're making a blanket.

I'm also thinking of offering small needle books with woven covers and can also make surprises or individual things depending on what you'd like.

Here's a photo of the giraffe I did on yours sharre. I post stalked you and saw that you collected giraffes!

It was good being near the end of your ring, because Miss_Vicki's was the only embroidery I hadn't seen. I particularly liked the curl in Jane Feeble's doll's hair, but they were all very lovely.

I got my apron pieces back on Monday night so here's some photos of everyone's lovely work. There are a few gaps, so I might add some more things before I sew it together, but then there will be an action shot (eventually).

Thanks everyone, all the embroidery is in different styles, but I love them all! You should be able to see bigger pictures by clicking but I didn't want to overload everyone's computers.

From Miss_Vicki. I love the superhero crafting fairy!

From cmc_aust (I'm so jealous of your french knot skills)

From librarylass. How did you get so much character into that stick figure?

From jane feebles. I love the design (and the stitching!) such a great idea!

From sharre. I love the little metallic needle, such attention to detail.

This one's mine but I thought I should include it anyway!

Once again thanks to everyone for embroidering my apron. If you've got better pictures post them too!

6  Re: Christmas Ornament Swap Rnd 2 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by starberrii on: October 19, 2007 11:00:51 PM
I've received my last ornaments, from kittyvegas, some lovely puzzle ornaments - a candy cane and a wreath.

It's probably still too early to put up the tree isn't it...

I hope you get better soon MissDisney. You poor thing.

I got a lovely ornament from gingerquilts in the mail today. Thank you very much!

I didn't realise from the other pictures how big it was!

Here's some photographs of the lovely ornaments I've received so far

From Kibbi, a lovely Christmas tree and a cute little snowman (I love his little hat!)

And from Harvey, a gorgeous beaded ornament (only her second attempt at beading, and it's so lovely) and a cute little Christmas cracker.

Finally we have a picture of the end of the envelope Kibbi's ornaments were in. I think it's very lucky the ornaments survived (about a third of the envelope is gone)!

9  Re: Aussies only shop the swap, signups July 16 - 23. in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by starberrii on: July 21, 2007 08:52:55 PM
SHOP CLOSEDAll items come from a smoke free home, but there is likely to be small amounts of pet hair.

2 Point Items
Fused Pendant

Crocheted Amigurumi Turtles - two points per turtle, in these colours. Not suitable for young children due to eyes and weights in their bottoms to make them stand up.

Cherry Jewelry Set: Two points for the set (+ bonus crochet flower), one point each

Necklace and earrings. The earrings have sterling silver hooks and the necklace is on a satin ribbon.

1 Point Items

Embroidered Bookmarks

1. Frankenstein: Scraps of tea and coffee dyed fabrics joined with Chevron stitch.

2. Falling Leaves in Up and Down Buttonhole Stitch

Set of four radiographs: 23.5 x 29.5 cm with a label cut out of a corner. These are of variable quality (eg exposures, positioning) and anatomy, and the radiographs do not take up the entire film but they would all be useful for crafting. I have two of these sets on offer.

This one is an example only and it a bit dark because it was done without any back lighting.

Crocheted Flowers - in Acrylic yarn with one long tail so they can be sewn onto things. Two for one point, five for two points.

These are about 10cm across.
I can make them in different colours or styles if you have particular preferences.

ALSO: Sets of 6 beaded stitch markers in your choice of colours. For knitting or crochet. 1 point.

Sorry I haven't posted here for a little while - computer issues.

Anyway, I hope your neck is going better geek-pride, and I'm looking forward to coming to another meetup at some point!

Here's a photo of the bookmark I was embroidering. I've finally sewn it together and photographed it (at some point in the future I will make a light box and have lovely photos, rather than the ones I've got at the moment, which aren't shocking, but could be improved)
