151  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Children of Ra series on: August 26, 2012 04:34:49 PM
I absolutely love this Children of Ra series.  I adore ancient Egyptian anything and Tiny Tut is my favorite.  These are made with acrylic paint and gel pen outlines.

My, what a big headdress you have, Tiny Tut.  Yes, all the better to rule the Upper and Lower Kingdoms, he says.

Mummy-hotep is upset.  He still hasn't been paid for building the Great Pyramid.

I placed Mummy-hotep and Tiny Tut with a bust of Akenaten my brother made for me
152  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Some Dragons on: August 26, 2012 03:09:41 AM
I love all your dragons.  The last one, dragon and baby, is my favorite.  Makes me think of my little boy.
153  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Un-vogue-gettable (my interpretation of the Lady Gaga cover of Vogue) on: August 26, 2012 03:02:36 AM
I tore a blank white glossy sheet of paper out of one of my magazines and was sketching the Lady Gaga cover of Vogue.  This is what I came up with.  I originally tried to draw this on an ATC but realized I needed to go bigger.  I included a picture of the original cover for comparison.

154  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Zombie Sub-Zero (Mortal Kombat) and Malice Cooper on: August 25, 2012 11:04:41 PM
Zombie Sub-Zero.  This cryomancer played with ice one too many times.  Now he has a fatal case of frostbite.
155  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / skull cameo on: August 25, 2012 10:57:45 PM
This is a large skull cameo I made a few weeks ago using blue glitter polymer clay and resin.  I found the prettiest skull cameo stamp at Michael's for $1 and knew immediately that it would make a fabulous necklace.

The hard part was choosing what color of clay to make it with.  After it was baked I dusted the skull and crossbones with some lovely loose hot pink eyeshadow before I covered the top with Magic Glos.  The eyeshadow allows the skull and crossbones to show up better underneath the resin.

I finally decided to place the cameo on a ribbon necklace instead of making a stainless steel chainmail necklace chain.
156  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Dhampir on: August 24, 2012 11:57:30 PM
This is the little dhampir (comes from the Balkan region for vampire).  He says "look deeply into my eyes"

I love vampires.  I am a huge fan on Laurell K. Hamilton and her Anita Blake, vampire hunter series.  I just love vampires and vampire bats and  bats which has nothing to do, really, with vampires other than folklore says vampires can turn into bats. Sidenote, I even have a bat tattoo on my forearm but not a vampire (shameful, I know)

Anyways, little dhampir is adorable and is made from ink and acrylic paint.  He was my original design for a polymer clay project that didn't translate well from drawing to clay.

157  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Princess Impeach and The Bride on: August 23, 2012 06:03:49 PM
I've made lots of ink drawings lately that I based my polymer clay creations off of.  Once I realized, and googled, what ATCs and ACEOs were I realized my ink drawings fit into those categories.  Here are two of my first ATCs.

This is Princess Impeach.  She can be a real royal pain in the ass.

This next one is The Bride.  She is getting married tomorrow but something has been haunting her thoughts.  Is it polygamy if the man she is marrying is made up of several different men?

Mod Geisha is my favorite
159  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: Billy Idolworshipper necklace charm on: August 23, 2012 11:08:35 AM
Thank you! I love the cutesy creepy. Half of the fun, too, is creating the back stories for characters.
160  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: Dead Astaire on: August 22, 2012 11:34:03 AM
Mostly, I make these from white polymer clay with some 16 gauge wire snippets helping secure the head and arms to the body. The rest is just acrylic paint. For other sculptures i sometimes use grommets, screws, nuts, etc for decoration.
