1  CLOTHING / Designer Clothing Homage / Kate Sylvester suska cape on: May 18, 2007 02:23:15 AM

So I just saw this cape from the Wolf collection in a shop window today and...wow! The pictures don't do it justice!

I NEED to own this, and seeing as I don't have $700+ lying around I need to make it Smiley

The front is straight, with seams coming down where her hands are coming out, but the sides swing around, and it is longer than it looks, I think the model is just really tall.
Does anyone have any tips on how to make this, or possibly any vague pattern ideas?

2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / So... Winter-een-mas! on: January 19, 2006 02:15:25 PM
Okay, technically it's not winter where I live, but the city seems to think otherwise so it's appropriate.  Besides which, I live with two game obessesed boys and am (just a tad!) game obessed myself.

So is anyone making their boy/girl/selves Winter-een-mas presants?  Or decorations?  Or having a party etc?
I'm currently kinitting my boy fingerless gloves and might make myself a pair if I don't stab my eyes out with a knitting needle first! (first knitting project, going very slowly!)

So, come on everyone and share in the Winter-een-mas goodness!

(your king commands it!)
3  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / NEW ZEALAND / International Shipping From NZ on: August 10, 2005 09:11:09 PM
So I was really excited because I was in my first swap, the paper swap, an A4 envelope full of paper.  i took it to the post office and the girl told me it would have to be sent by weight and it ended up costing me $17 per envelope!! (I had 2).

What have other people done when they've been in swaps?  Is there a cheaper way of sending stuff or am I doomed to view the swap gallery longingly because i can't afford (as a poor student) shipping?
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Board Game Party on: July 21, 2005 05:49:46 PM
Hey everyone, as well as having a birthday dinner: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=43912
I'm also having a birthday lunch with more of my friends (seeing as I could only invite 8 to the dinner).
I was thinking we could have lunch, a few drinks and play some board games.

I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas of how i could do the invites.  So far I've come up with maybe enlarging some monopoly money and writing the details on the back, but if anyone has some other ideas they are most welcome!
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Murder Mystery Party on: July 17, 2005 05:38:48 PM
Hey everyone, for my birthday this year I'm having a murder mystery dinner.
We're doing "An Affair to Dismember" and it's supposed to be set in a "haunted mansion" and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how we can make or dining/living room look like a haunted mansion.

P.S. I am so excited about this! I've been wanting to do one for ages!!  I  know some people on here have done them, how were they?
6  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / NEW ZEALAND / Finding Stuff! on: May 10, 2005 09:21:53 PM
Hey does any one else have trouble finding some of the cool stuff people use in their projects?  If anyone could tell me (esp in Dunedin) where to get D-rings, that would be awesome.  The only place I've seen them is at Spotlight, and they're $2.40 for 2! *is shocked*  I need like at least 8 so I really don't want to pay $9.60 for the trim of a shirt.
