1  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Re: Wristbands on: September 22, 2010 05:29:28 PM
Oh yes! Such a huge hockey fan that I'm watching Bruins pre-season thru a French internet feed because it's the only one showing the game tonight! Smiley

Who's your favorite player?

The wristbands are fun and super quick. I did the Bruins one in a night - planning the chart took longer than it did to knit! Smiley

Hi everyone! I posted in the July thread since I did most of my crocheting that month, but I did post here, so I thought I'd put my finished product in this thread as well...

Here is the final product!!!

I know, the size issue is bothering me too. Sad It's a few inches smaller because it's double knitting weight and I only managed to get five rows done (while all my others are seven rows). I may do some filler stitching. Or, now that I'm home, maybe I can unwind the stupid hank and get all the knots out of it! and get it to the right size. I'm going to let it sit for a few days... I did a lot of swearing last time I worked with it. LOL.

Thank you, CraftADDchick!! Smiley I'm so glad you like them! Smiley Any thoughts on what I should do with the teensy alpaca one? I was thinking maybe put it in the middle and sew the bigger squares around it. Think that would work?

(I also have a yoga mat bag in that first beach yarn. It's super cute!)

Hope you're well!! Cheesy

I just posted all my squares from the last week in the July thread. Smiley I'll be definitely working along with everyone again this month! My plan is to do five more squares in August and then sew together the 31 July squares and 5 August squares for my "journal afghan." The funny thing about this whole thing? I've been posting my square each day on Facebook and my afghan is rather famous now among my family and friends! Everyone I see asks about it! Smiley

Hello everyone!!

I was out of town last week and haven't updated in ages... I'll post the squares I did up to yesterday. I am going to continue crocheting five more squares so I can do a 6x6 square afghan. I'll start sewing them together on Aug6.

Red and silver - red for the anger I felt when I had to call the state and was hung up on! Silver because there was some good from the day. LOL

7/23 -
This one is for a girl that I met in class. She wore a beautiful dress with these colors, so I did a square with the same coloring. Smiley

7/24 -
This one symbolizes my haircut. LOL. Brown hair with some blondish from the sun. Cheesy

7/25 -
Getaway day! Did a quick, thick white chunky yarn to get done quickly.

7/26 -
Greens because of all the trees near our room in Maine!

7/27 -
Beach day!

7/28 -
Alpaca yarn. I loved this yarn. It was soft, made from a cute little alpaca named Naomi. I loved it until the hank got all tangled and I had no way to untangle it. This square is really small. Not sure how I'm going to fit it in with the rest of the squares...

7/29 -
Another beach day - this is Red Heart ocean yarn

7/30 -
Black and white for our day spent on the road...

7/31 -
White, orange and pink - my Dunkin Donuts square!

When I have my other five squares done and I start sewing, I'll definitely post a picture of the final product. Thanks for sharing my square a day journal afghan with me! Smiley See you all in August!!! Smiley

Been in class this week... So I'm still crocheting, but haven't been posting everyday. Here are my latest squares!!

Monday - yellow/white - the class I'm taking has a sunshine logo, so I tried to recreate that in a granny square!

Tuesday - pastels - this was a lazy square. I got home late from class, went to an appointment, had to make dinner when I got home, then had to go to the gym. By the time I got home, I didn't want to crochet! So I just found a variegated yarn and ran with it. Smiley

Wednesday - purple/green - This one is in honor of this really nice lady, Marilyn, that I have met in my class. She has been super friendly and nice, very perceptive of my anxiety around being in a class with no one I know and being the only person in a different situation than the rest of the group. She wore a pretty purple/green outfit today, so I went with those colors for today.

CraftADDchick - I have friends out in Worcester. How did you handle the tornado warning?! Hope all was OK!! Do you have any good little crafty stores that you visit near you? Next time I visit my friends, I'd love to hit up a local craft store.

Kittymom13 & craftADDchick - Thank you so much for the encouragement on my squares, afghan! Smiley I can't wait to see how it all ends up. I really don't have a plan, I'm going with each day as it comes. But I think it'll all come together in the end!! What part of Mass are you in, craftADDchick? My husband and I are just north of Boston.

Here is today's square... It too has a story (of course!) It's bright yellow because Feng Shui peeps believe that exposure to too much intense yellow makes you anxious and I have had a very anxious day today. I have to take a class this week and I'm very anxious about it. I signed up for it when I had a job and I'm not even sure I'm sticking with the profession. But I can't get out of the class. Anyway, I decided to make my square anxious to match my feelings today...

We did have watermelon for lunch, too! Smiley

Here is today's square... I chose black & orange because my sweetie and I wandered around Salem, Mass. this afternoon.
