32  pink silk/ t-shirt dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by BethyG on: July 20, 2005 09:23:17 AM
so last night... ya.
i had been inspired by some "punk t-shirt dress" things. this didn't turn out like those, but i still kinda like it. i had some pink silk on hand that my grandma gave me. i had a "miss Jr. America" t-shirt on hand. this is what came of it. it's kinda rediculous... especally because i'm grounded and i'm not allowed to go anywhere. but that's a good reason to wear it in my oppinnion, who needs real reasons these days?
anyways here it is:

the skirt is a lot of fun

go ahead and tell me what you think if you like because i'd like some contact with the outside world durring these lonely house-bound days. lol

33  my t-shirt patchwork skirt (ohh that rhymes!) in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by BethyG on: July 18, 2005 11:18:25 AM
so i go on and off of having an obsession with making "patchwork" skirts. i have mostly old t-shirts that i cut up and sewed together, but the flowery ones used to be my aunt's curtains. lol. anyways, this is my latest one : hazza!

this is from the side- sorry about the bluryness (this is actually one of my better ones- i had an odd case of camera shake)
and this is how i can put the skirt on

it has snaps and a little flap that comes over.

i kinda like it. i might actually wear it ( i say that because half the time i make things then don't do anything with them)
anyways, comments and reassurence are welcome, or suggestions or constructive criticism or w/e. lol

34  dress or skirt? in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by BethyG on: June 29, 2005 03:17:11 PM
ok kids, i have a dress that i bought at a thrift store. i love the fabric but i hated the top part of the dress. i therefore sewed the top just straight. i was going to re-attach the straps when it occurred to me that the fabric might also make a lovely skirt. to make it a dress i need to make it fit better and put the straps back on. to make it a skirt i need to put some elastic or buttons to make it fit well around my waist. i just cant decide tho. opinions please.

(as a skirt)

and there's another one too, but those are the two that i made. my boyfriend painted the other one- he's such a girl- white, then vines and flowers. but i's growing on me. i'll take a pic one of these days... maybe. hehe

they've got led zep t-shirts there (for 20 euros) but i thought they were too expensive so i made my own one.

well, it's not perfect, but i like how it came out anyway...  Wink

not perfect? well if it's not- it's pretty close. good job!
