3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / a kind of country westerny hoboish bag on: February 01, 2006 10:38:57 AM
I made this today hoping for a totally different look, i wasn't going for the country look so much, but that's how it turned out, and i still love it. It's made with brown corduroy, and has two rows of ruffles on each side. it's lined with the same material, and has a large back pocket across the back. as soon as i get my bum to the fabric store, i will put a covered button on the tab closure (just for looks, it has a snap closure under it.) and one on the back to hold the pocket closed.

hope you like...

4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / i'm kinda iffy. on: January 22, 2006 07:33:22 AM
it's been awhile since i've posted anything... but yesterday i was feeling inspired. I had this idea for a purse for awhile now... and i've tried a couple different techniques. yesterday, i successfully completed one, but now i'm kind of iffy about it... but i decided to share anyhow.

this is the front...

this is the back...

close up of the flower...

and finally the side view.

so tell me what you think..

5  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / i have the idea. now i'm stumped. on: December 17, 2005 09:24:12 PM
Hi, I have an idea for some curtains, but need some ideas for the materials...

I've been sewing for years, so the actual making of the curtains is nothing. I'm just going to get maybe white chiffon, or some slinky sheer and make an extra long (so long it piles on the floor maybe) panel. The window is only maybe a yard wide. anyhoo...

but then i wanted to add some beaded curtain type things. I basically wanted just 3 or 4" wide discs strung going down the curtain, attached only at the top. i just don't know what to make the discs from, or get them relatively cheap. I would prefer them transparent, but they don't have to be, and they need to be black. * my living room is mostly black and white *

any suggestions would be soooooo very appreciated.

6  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / homestar runner swap? on: September 08, 2005 07:57:08 PM
I was watching some strong bad emails today, and i was thinking about how much fun a homestar swap would be.

If you are reading this and have no idea about the goodness that is homestar runner, check out www.homestarrunner.com

if you are into this idea, lemme know, and i'll organize ;-)
7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Tutorial: circular bag now with NEW on: September 03, 2005 05:50:55 PM
I saw a bag on here awhile ago that was this shape. i can't find it now though, but that was the inspiration for this one, i used black thin vinyl (it looks like i made it from an old trash bag in the pics, but it looks kinda leathery in real life.) I put the stars in myself, which was a pain in the bottom. once i got it figured out, it was actually kind of easy. :-)

so total props to the girl who made the first one, i believe it had a green and white vintage print on it.

This is it in all it's glory, hanging out on my floor.

this one is a kinda close up of the stars, it was hard to get them photographed because of the flash and the sheen on the vinyl.

this is another angle of the stars on there, and a little closer up.

anyhow, thanks for looking!

**** New Tutorial*****

pics of the last step....

sorry it took so long to repost.
hope this was understandable. if not, let me know and i'll clarify.
and if you make one, post it, so i can see.
