291  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Re: fake water in silk flower vases???? on: May 07, 2006 07:31:26 AM
Check the floral aisles in craft stores or even in WalMart - I think I've seen kits for this, but I'm not sure.
292  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / covering a steam radiator on: May 07, 2006 07:27:57 AM
I live in an apartment above downtown stores, so it's a really old building. In our bedroom we have this ugly old steam radiator (that only works when IT wants to - meaning, we don't turn it on, it just randomly turns itself on and usually only when it's really cold).

I want to cover it, as it makes rearranging the furniture impossible and I'd much rather be able to put things on top of a cover so it actually has a function (not to mention it's friggin ugly!) Has anyone done this in their own home? If so, pictures of the final project would be VERY helpful!

293  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: Sparrow Tattoo Nightlight on: May 05, 2006 09:12:22 PM
I think it looks great with the blank banner! Words would be too much, the vibrant colours are definitely enough  Cheesy
294  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Got any ideas for fish shaped bottles. on: May 05, 2006 09:09:46 PM
I would get a strand of coloured christmas lights and cut the tip of the bottle so that it can fit over the top of each light. Now I wish that I liked sushi just so I could have these bottles!  Cheesy
295  Ohio / Ohio: Northeast / Re: Any Akronites? on: April 28, 2006 04:13:38 PM
I find it hilarious that you asked him to take you shopping in Wadsworth! Generally, we all go up to Fairlawn to do our shopping. There's been a lot of new development here, and I keep praying that they put a Michael's, JoAnn's or Pat Catan's in somewhere. I actually haven't been to the Fabric Peddler since middle school, maybe I should stop in sometime.

I clicked on the topic because I go to the University of Akron [and when I was working at Summit Mall, I swear I spent more time in Summit county than I did at home!], but was shocked to see Wadsworth mentioned at the end. Even more so, the Fabric Peddler - I live right across the street from it! Small world, huh?
297  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Girl in the Mirror on: September 05, 2005 04:18:50 PM
This is a collage that I did a long time ago, but I love it so much that I thought I'd share it here. I want to get it framed eventually.

298  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: WWJD? on: September 05, 2005 03:41:18 PM
This is absolutely awesome. I've never seen the shirt with that on it, where did he get it from?

I believe it was called "Jo Versa's World of Cross Stitch" or something along those lines. It had a lot of really random fun patterns [like an electronic keyboard, a cassette tape, a coffee maker, lots of animals]. I also xstitched a SWEET stegasaurus.

I was looking through a xstitch book at the library when I came across this and knew I had to do it. Unfortunately in my excitement to complete it, I left out a few things [like it's little robot ears] but my best friend loved it nonetheless.
