1  African Woman & Baby in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by SunkistRaisin on: December 09, 2006 01:15:33 PM

It's done w/ willow... which if you've ever worked with it's so hard to do tight details... I'm pretty proud of it. If I was to do it again i think the shoulder would be bigger... but other than that I like it (I realize the baby blends in.. it was kind of supposed to).

Let me know what you think  Smiley

(Oh, and btw, the picture doesnt do it justice -- the darks in it.. like the background are really black)

2  Re: Colored Pencil Portraits (picture heavy) in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by SunkistRaisin on: July 22, 2006 09:15:13 PM
wow... so I totally forgot about this... I finished the piece like... quite a while ago & seeing as I never put the finished product up, I figured I would now & see if anyone had anything to say about it

I'm really quite pleased with how it turned out... Not my best, but certainly not my worst, and better than the first picture that I did of him & I.

3  Pretty flowery earrings in Beads: Completed Projects by SunkistRaisin on: June 27, 2006 07:15:59 PM
I just started beading again (I have this issue.. where I start something, spend all this money on supplies, then move to another obsession after finishing one project  Tongue) Anyways... these are the first pair of earrings I did.. I did a few random single earrings... but I then proceeded to take them apart  Tongue
Anyways.. here they are  Smiley Hope you like em

I got the pattern from http://beadwork.about.com/library/weekly/blleafyvine.htm... but I altered it slightly so it looked more like flowers rather than leaves.

5  Two versions... (boobholder) (slightly image heavy) in Knitting: Completed Projects by SunkistRaisin on: April 11, 2006 08:44:29 AM
I finished these a while ago, but never got around to posting them  Lips sealed
So.. here's the one I did & totally followed the pattern:

Done in a mint green baby yarn.. I dont remember the exact brand.. cheap walmart stuff  Grin

And my second one I made a few changes to - no cap sleeve.. 3/4 length.. full length sweater.. stripes
(that white spot was from the flash)

I love love love the second one.. the first isn't so flattering on me.. but I wear it once in a while

Thanks for lookin  Smiley

6  Colored Pencil Portraits (picture heavy) in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by SunkistRaisin on: February 12, 2006 12:58:53 PM
Mmk, so... I typically do a lot of portraits and figure drawing and such, but typically I stick to black & white or monochromatic pictures... I especially love working with charcoal. And, since the art class I'm taking is an IB course where we individually decide what we're going to work with and what we're going to do (it's a great course.. I love it) I haven't done much else this year... But, I figured since I did a picture of my boyfriend & I for Christmas (his request Cheesy), and I wasn't exactly thrilled with how it turned out, I'd replace that one with one in color...
So, anyway, like I said, I don't normally do color -- except for a couple chalk-based pastel pieces last year, I had a lot of practicing to do before I started. I finally got one done that I actually thought turned out pretty nice after the 3rd or 4th time, trying with different techniques:

I don't have the reference, but it's a baby...which I never did do the hair on... *oops* Tongue
So, once I finished that, I went on to the picture.. based on this one of the two of us:

...As you can see it's not totally finished.. .still have a bunch to do, and I have lightened up his skin since I took those pics... But I wanted to get some feedback on them since Mum doesn't offer any criticism and I wont be able to talk to my art teacher for a couple days.
Thanks for lookin Smiley Feel free to rip these apart.. I really want honest opinions  Tongue

7  my first sock.. yay ^.^ in Knitting: Completed Projects by SunkistRaisin on: January 08, 2006 04:20:26 PM

I used the sock pattern at http://www.dawnbrocco.com/freepatts.html.. with slight modifications (i only did 18 k2p2 rather than 30, and I made the foot slightly shorter..) It's my first sock, so it's not the greatest, but I quite like how it turned out.. I'm halfway thru the second one and of course, I've already started another:

Broadripple from Knitty.. bc once I finished a fairly basic one, I just had to try something slightly more challenging  Tongue
I love socks  Smiley let me know what ya think
oooh.. and they're both done in acrylic, just.. cuz i didnt wanna use expensive yarns just in case they didnt quite turn out.. and my mother has TONS of it stashed away.
Thanks for looking!

9  Huge Dallas star on the wall! help!!! in Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions by SunkistRaisin on: June 19, 2005 12:24:04 AM
Ok, well, my boyfriend is redoing his room with the whole Dallas Cowboys theme...and i have been appointed to draw out a giant star on one of his walls to be painted blue to go along with the theme. Great idea in theory, however... I can't draw a proportional star for the life of me. Tongue They always turn out lopsided. I have tried to make a decent one, in various sizes quite a few times, and I just can't do it.. but before I tell him i refuse to do it, i thought i'd see if anyone had any idea as to what i can do. The star looks like this, altho idk if he wants the outline around it or not (i would think so, but...they havent really specified, so idk..)

I was thinkin of possibly one of those things that project the image onto the wall, but the only one I have is about 8 years old, and i don't know the range on it...

yeah, so any ideas??  Smiley

Ok..I have this great collared tshirt that I got from one of my friends. The problem? Its an extra large, and I wear extra small to small. I dont want to just get rid of it, but I have no idea what to do with it either. The shirt basically looks like this:

plus its got a little pocket on the top left.

Any suggestions?
