2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / dog sweater recommendations? on: December 30, 2006 01:45:31 AM
I'm planning on knitting a sweater for a friend's dog and was just looking for some input on what your experiences have been. The dog is a minature pinscher, and very small. (he likes champagne and rides in the car.)

Any suggestions for patterns? I am looking at "Howl" from SnB, because it seems the best combination of simple and not ugly. But it really isn't that cute, either. Any input would be helpful!
3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / stamped foam drink cozies on: November 16, 2006 03:48:39 PM

I found these in the $1 bin at Michael's and stamped them with acrylic paint. I've gifted them to friends and they are quite a hit!

I love this purse! Definitely my favorite FO! There are more details in my blog and the photo page on flickr.
5  California / California: North / crafters interested in starting a group in Sacramento? on: October 12, 2006 11:45:36 AM
I have been talking with a couple friends recently of starting a crafting group that meets in Sacramento, and it seems like a number of people are interested.
At this point, we need to figure out where the best place to meet would be and the best time. We had been going to meet at a friend's house, but if it's something with people we don't personally know (i.e. you craftsters!) I don't know about that. It's just a little weird to have people come over having no prior knowledge as to how sketchy they are. [Not that any of you are sketchy, but who really wants to take the chance?]
Also, I would love to have a name for this group.

So if you have any good ideas as to WHERE, WHEN, and what to call it, let me know. Or if you're interested.
6  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Pippi KneeStockings from SnB on: October 02, 2006 09:20:19 PM
I finished these several months ago [May!], but wanted to post them here. In case anyone wants any feedback or an example of what they actually look like. (I know I always want to see examples of other people's FOs before I start something!)
Here they are:

I have a blog entry about it here, if you want to check that out.

I was just reminded about these because I am using the rest of the yarn for mittens!
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / what to do with 1 1/2 balls of Cascade Fixation? on: September 28, 2006 09:31:20 PM
I just knit Betty, from Knitty/White Lies Designs and I have a ball and a half of black Cascade Fixation left over. Any suggestions? I am thinking about a pair of fishnet stockings, but am also considering regular socks. But I'm open to suggestion.

It's like I'm really indiffernt about my ideas so far and I want to find something I'm excited about!
