2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Malika, my first poppet on: June 21, 2013 02:57:24 AM
I recently joined the Mini Poppet swap.

My partner mentioned she like Egyptian belly dancing on the questionnaire.

I like anything Egyptian, so I made an Egyptian belly dancing poppet. I looked at an incredible amount of pictures/outfits etc.

A lot of naughty words where said whilst making this poppet.

Thanks for looking
3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / A yeti for Brax on: May 18, 2013 12:16:51 AM
Hi everyone,

I love yeti's!! I started sewing, so I could sew my own yeti Smiley

This is my 2nd attempt at making a yeti (My first one was Henry)

This pattern is my own. I have a few things to adjust and he is slight lop sided, but the person who ordered it (after seeing Henry) loved him & believes it gives him character.

The yeti is going to a new born baby in Townsville, not as a toy item, but as a art doll for his nursery.

C&C Welcome

4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / How to do an amaterasu soft-bodied-doll/sculpture on: May 16, 2013 02:26:34 AM
Hi everyone,

I have really been loving the creations I have been finding on the internee of these toys/dolls etc

They have resin set faces and paws/feet, but they have soft bodies.

They have wire armature.

I would really love to try and make some myself, but have no clue of how/where to start and I was thinking about making resin faces, but I have no clue how to start that as well.

Here are some links of my fav ones of Deviant art so you know what I mean:

Any help suggestions would be appreciated!!
5  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Living/dining inspiration for a rental on: April 22, 2013 03:22:13 AM
Hi everyone,

I am hoping for some ideas to spruce up my house. I currently live in a 1960 weatherboard house. I have 2 bedrooms and an enclosed veranda.

I am trying to slowly make it look better and a bit more stylish, as we still have our original furniture from when we left home at 16.

My living room and dining room is 1 room with no dividers, but has a badly built fire place in the middle of it. It is a rental so I can not pull the fireplace out, but it is falling to pieces anyway.

I have a dark chocolate 5 piece dining table, book case, coffee table & low sitting entertainment unit. A dark and light purple rug in the living room, a blue sued lounge in the living room.

I also have an ugly (my partner bought it and loved it) red persian rug under the table (partner's choice again) in the dining.

The flooring is polished timber floorboards.

I have a 3 ft ft tank, a chocolate ottoman which is actually my cat's bed & the usual TV and surround sound system.

I really love anything dark and spooky or anything whimsical, but I feel that I can not have that, as the rooms in the house are quite dark, as where the windows are positioned it does not get any sunlight.

Any thoughts/ideas suggestions is much appreciated.

I can post pics if needed, but thye will be from a phone or ipad, as my house wsa broken into and laptops, camera and computer where stolen.
6  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Wattle & wallaby grass terrarium on: March 31, 2013 02:11:36 AM
I made this for my partner Gingerpeachy in the international snack swap after seeing her Interest full of terrariums .

Sadly it did not make it, but here are a few pics I took before hand.

I really wanted to use tulle. But it arrived 2 dates after I sent, so I uused a fuzzy wool instead. To represent the wattle  flowers.

Thanks for looking
7  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / Can I draw on polymer clay and how would I male these? on: March 28, 2013 10:15:29 PM
Hi everyone!!

I want to turn this

into a top on a sewing pin. I was thinking about using polymer clay, but its a medium I have not used before.

To get the faces on would I be able to draw it on with a sharpie or acrylic paint?
