Recieved my package the other day from lindzyt! Lots of neat pictures

The frame: The glue she used did something weird to the paint, you can see it in the bottom of the tree reflecting off the flash...

A waterfall:

Loooveeee the colors on this one:

Simply beautiful:

Not printed, but on the disk and I LOVE IT:

Thanks soo much lindzyt! I hope you enjoyed my pictures and frame as much as I like yours!

Yay I'm super excited, hopefully I'll be able to get some shots my partner likes! as I was thinking of places to take pictures, I realized that nature is not in a pretty state at all right now (Maine--summer doesn't happen until nearly July!).. it's still all dead winter junk.. We should do a swap like this again, but in the summer/fall!

9  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / William's Nautical quilt :) on: January 14, 2010 05:44:11 PM
SOOO.. I have been working on this quilt for almost a year now, from drafting the pattern to picking fabrics to sewing (in secret!)..  My boyfriend is going to a maritime college to become (eventually) a ship's captain, and has been raised on the water his whole life. The top row is his three initials, then a mariner's compass, and then the entire alphabet of the nautical flags, A-Z. This was a lot of work since I could only find 2 similar quilts on the internet, and they weren't really all that similar! Anyways, finally got it done right before Christmas, and yes, he LOVES it!

On to the pictures!!!!!!

the entire quilt, way taller than me! It's about 7 x 8 feet, a queen-ish size

closeup of the quilting, I love how it gives movement but is still rigid like all the flag shapes.

I posted the facebook links incase the pictures aren't very clear or big, I took the photos with my cell phone so they are just uploaded to the internet.

It is all machine pieced, and there are 6 blocks that are hand appliqued. The backing is just leftovers of the fabric, I bought wayyy too much fabric, since I had no idea how much I'd end up needing! (did I just say way to much fabric? noo)...

Thanks for looking, c & c is always appreciated!!    Cheesy
