2  Tea cards in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by geekgirl1000100 on: October 09, 2019 06:26:02 AM
I made tea themed notecards for the recent tea swap.

The embossed papers I received in a swap from BigBangMomma!  The tea cups are clipart I printed out on cardstock colored in with my new Bianyo markers that I got for a really good deal on Amazon.

3  Crocheted doily and cup cozy in Crochet: Completed Projects by geekgirl1000100 on: October 09, 2019 06:19:30 AM
I made a doily for a tea pot and a tea cup cozy for the tea swap that just wrapped up.  My partner is a Doctor Who fan so I used Tardis colors.  And a round granny "square" stitch.  I am seriously thinking about making myself a doily.  I love the colors.

the crocheted towel is lovely. Turning a teapot into a wind chime is a cute idea. I've not seen tea cubes before.  Do they hold their shape or does the tea separate?
Kittykill makes the best packages!
Love the colors of the Japanese tea cozy.

Inselaeffchen made me a cute cup cozy in the theme of my favorite Doctor!

And included a tea bag holder with an animated haggis on it.  too funny.

And sent 2 great teas: Duchess Grey and English Breakfast.  I love Earl Grey and Lady Grey teas but had not had Duchess Grey before.

And since she was sending from Scotland of course she sent shortbread.  I love shortbread.  The package was opened and devoured before I could takes pics (I had friends over) so here is the empty package.

Having a cup of Duchess Grey in my Craftster mug

So the masterboards that smart send me, I had lost, misfiled, put in a safe place for keeping and just found, discovered, got around to pulling them out and taking pictures.  Sorry for the delay!!!
They were in my laptop bag that I had stopped using for a while.

I really like the white flowers on the purple background and the yellow one with the Xs, Os, and &s.
They are all great though.

and cool extra papers!

Photos please! The stencils and painted papers.... Grin Grin Grin

This will be photo heavy.  I linked to the mylar sheets above and they were good quality.  10 for $12.99.  they are 6 mil sheets.  I found another pack on amazon for 20 sheets for the same price and also 6 mil.  I just ordered them and will see if they are the same quality.
if you go for 4 mil sheets you can them even cheaper but I liked the thickness of the ones I got.

These are some of the paper stencils I cut over a year ago.  They get sturdier as the layers of paint dry but of course you can't wash them and if they get too wet with paint they can tear.  Also if you don't put plastic or wax paper between them they can stick together and tear when you try to get them apart.

you can see some paper stuck to the circle stencil.  If I try to get it off completely the stencil will tear.

Here you can see where one stencil did tear, probably got too wet

Here are some of the ones I cut from mylar.  They are nice and sturdy. and still very flexible.

Action shots:

this is a mask I cut out with mylar

printed on tape

On the edge you can see I just wiped off the paint.  So fairly easy to clean up.

audio your journal pages are so vivid!

I watched a tutorial on doing gelli prints with packing tape.  I watched it twice.
I tried it out and had various levels of success.  Not all the paint on the plate would come off on the tape no matter how hard or much I burnished it. Which means it's still slightly sticky on the back when the tutorial says it won't have any stickiness.  I am storing the strips sandwiched between waxed paper so they don't stick to other papers.

But over all I liked the concept and the tape strips are cool.  You have the gelli print design and can still see through it enough that you would see whatever paper you put it on. and of course since it's tape it has a shine to it.

It was hard to get a good pic because of the glare on the tape and you can obviously see the sections where the transfer of the print didn't take.  but I will most likely cut them up in small pieces any way so it shouldn't be too much of an issue

Tape on my current crochet pattern - you can see text through the tape.
and you can see a small strip of scotch tape I tried.

I received from smmarrt days ago and neglected to post pics.

She nailed my themes.

Kitchen theme. Love the retro look.

Coffee theme. To me that cookie looks like pistachio with chocolate chips.

And 2 snarky themes. They are awesome and both suit me! Lol.

And extras that will definitely get used.

Thanks smmarrt!
