1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Everybody gets a ham! on: June 04, 2012 10:19:33 AM
Thanks, everyone! The hams were indeed very well received - and the people that aren't in my group were very jealous and have started requesting embroideries of their own  Grin

Aw, this is so cute - simple and lovely!

I made the ham for a coworker who's leaving to go to grad school (we're part of a working group called the "fighting hams" - don't ask me why, I have no idea!). Well, I got a little carried away and ended up making one for everyone.

Here's a detail shot so you can see the stitching.

And the backs - I cut circles of cardstock that matched the fabric on the front and used my handy-dandy stamp to put my name on it.

I handed out the hams today and they were a HUGE hit - everybody loved them! I mean really, who wouldn't love a felt ham embroidery for your highly professional office Smiley

Thank you all for the compliments! I'm looking forward to trying more sketch-like pieces. They stitch up really quickly...quite rewarding!

I've wanted to make this piece for a while and finally got around to it this weekend. Normally I stitch pieces that are full of felt and bright colors and cutesy animals, so this is really different for me...I'm really happy with it, though!

The first version was pretty terrible - I ripped it out and restitched almost the whole thing. If you're interested you can read about the process on my blog.

6  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Sachets on Parade *Pic Heavy!* on: April 23, 2012 06:29:39 AM
Holy cow, I can't believe you had the patience to make 18 sachets! They're all beautiful, but the French knot M is my favorite. The satin stitching on the S is so neat!

The black hoop is perfect with this. I love knitting but it does make my stabby sometimes, so I feel your partner's pain Smiley The bent needle made me laugh!

This is super cute! I'm a crazy cat lady too, and I approve of this piece Smiley The color gradation is very nice - I'm sure your mom will love it!!
