Hot off the needles (I literally cut the last end less than 10 minutes ago), here is my new favorite FO ever.  I am sorry for the crappiness of the pictures, it's dark here already, but I just had to share.



I used just over 8 skeins of Cashmerino DK, I did not double strand it as the pattern says.  This created a lightweight, drapey garment.  It took me about 6 weeks.  The pattern is pretty straightforward, I think it's a great design, very unique how the designer incorporates "zigzags" throughout the  piece.

I haven't seen too many of these out there but I highly recommend this pattern!!

So to my understanding Knitting Workshop on Lincoln has a sale at the end of the Winter to unload their heavier yarns. 

When does this magical sale occur?  Anyone?  Bueller?

Well I have finally had it with my Denise needles.  They're too chunky, too inflexible, and two of the cables have snapped at the joins in the past two weeks. 

I know they have a lifetime warranty, does anyone know anything about their return policy?

I'm buying the Options set.

This took me about 3 months off and on, and I used Knitpicks Telemark yarn as recommended.

Pretty straightforward pattern but I wish it alloted for steek placement when knitting!  Cutting the steeks was pretty messy because of it and I had to reinforce it with another round of crochet inside.  It's all good now though.

It's very warm and I hope it keeps me warm for many winters to come.

I recommend this pattern if you have steeked before and are looking to expand your colorwork knowledge.  Not a pattern for the faint of heart, as I'm convinced it raised my blood pressure a few points!

So my poor kitty broke his foot.  Now he looks like this:



Does anyone have any ideas for any kind of toys/comforting items I could make for him?  He is supposed to have limited activity for the next 4-6 weeks so I'm trying to come up with things to entertain him that don't require him to run around the house.  I don't want him to be bored out of his kitty mind while he's mending!

I went to a thrift store this afternoon and got two 100% wool sweaters to unravel.  I'm in the  middle of unraveling one and I'm finding the yarn is so weak that I can easily tear it in half just by tugging on one strand using both hands.  It's lace/fingering weight. 

Is this normal? Should I continue salvaging it or just toss it?

My oldest UFO is finally complete!





Started in December 2005, finished today.  It was a pretty boring knit and that's why it took me so long.  It's probably about 7 feet total.  I'm so happy to have it done!

OK you all probably think I am *insane* but I remember once that someone posted a pic of a really cute pullover that had fair isle on it along with a buckle.  I believe it was from VK Winter 04/05.  I am *NOT* asking for the pattern--I am just seeing if anyone knows the name of the sweater I'm talking about or has a link to a pic of it.  I'd like to make sure I'm thinking of the right sweater before I go hunting down a copy of this issue.  Thanks!
