I think I'm going to take part in this. The pictures will probably be bad though since all I have right now is my camera phone.
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: how to attach velcro onto knitted items? on: June 30, 2006 08:40:24 AM
Thanks! Yeah, I think a whipstitch would work loads better. The pattern was recommending a backstitch and that's just not working.

I'm assuming this goes here, but feel free to move if I'm wrong.

I'm trying to sew some velcro snaps onto some cell phone and I-pod cozies I've knitted. Is there any good way of doing this? Maybe it's my sewing skills, but so far, it's been very hard to even get the needle through the snaps? Would some sort of fabric glue work better? All the velcro that was attachable that I found at stores said not to put on fabric, so I had to get the non-glued snaps.

How do you find out about craft fairs?  There is a huge one that comes to Boston every winter but I think you have to submit a portfolio etc.

I don't know if you'd be interested or if this is too late, but there is also the Boston Skillshare, they allowing people to table. It's on April 17th and 18th.

Here's the link:

it's usually held on the street beside chop suey, which is randolph street. if you park on cary or any streets near it you should be okay. i believe there is a big mural on the side of the building when you go down cary that says "chop suey books" on a chinese takeout carton.
8  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Re:wonder woman blank books on: February 29, 2004 04:26:56 PM
the only thing i paid for was the paper, everything else was stuff i have around the house that i kind of need to get rid of anyway (uh, construction paper, since i'm not a design student anymore). i wasn't sure that it would be fair to charge a lot of money since the books are small and i did not have to buy all of the supplies at this point. i will probably feel differently and will charge differently the next sets or designs i make.

i'm new to the crafting/selling crafts thing. my background is zines, where most people purposely try to sell things as cheap as possible.

but considering i have a few votes of confidence here (thanks!), i may consider raising the prices.

is it the same girl, anna, putting this together? i tabled my distro at the first one in july, she never sent out any notices about the other ones, i usually ended up finding out about them through fliers at video fan or something.
